Cook E Jar Bakery & Cafe

Stopped in for a late lunch today after thrifting (umm, some great thrift stores around!!). Hubs and I kept it light - Cobb salad with cup of soup of the day for me (soup was cream of chicken with grilled jalapeños?) and hubs had BBQ Bacon burger with chips and side salad. First, a few observations. Quick, friendly service. Plenty of tables to choose from for a cafe/diner meal, was seated within moments of walking in. Bakery display looked full as we walked by. Sound, ambience good for a cafe. Restroom clean, large, smelled nice. Server dropped off menus, took drink order. Menu was all cafe fare - we actually had a hard time deciding what to try because several items looked good. Prices were decent and fair. Placed order with server few minutes later. Probably 10-15 min later, food hitting table, fresh, smells and looks delicious. Friendly service, again. I tuck into my salad - this Cobb is outstanding. I asked for the black olives to be held back, along with the bread, so I can't review those items, but what did make it onto my salad plate (pretty decent sized too) was fresh romaine, recently chopped, diced tomatoes that were red-red (not yellow orange red), hard boiled egg, slivered (I think I'm in love ), grilled chicken, fresh avocado, and a VERY generous portion of fresh chopped bacon. Sprinkled across the salad was blue cheese crumbles and .... FRESH GROUND BLACK PEPPER. It was amazing. 100/10 would get again and would def recommend. Someone is paying attention to details in the kitchen, and it shows! I appreciate them!!!I treated myself to honey mustard salad dressing (normally a vinaigrette gal), and it was so good and went ridiculously well with the overall salad. After eating about 1/3 of the salad, I checked out my cup of soup. Tasted homemade, with huge chunks of chicken and there was a nice pop of warmth from the grilled jalapeños. 15/10 would recommend. On my next trip I look forward to trying other soups of the day. Hubs enjoyed his burger, chips. Said he wished they had fries instead of chips, but I don't think they have a fryer. Can't emphasize enough, service was fast, efficient, and FRIENDLY. Prices were good, and food was GREAT. If you're looking for a great little place to grab breakfast and coffee in the morning or a nice lunch/brunch, you can't go wrong here. Picked up a 6 pack of snickerdoodles on the way out the door, haven't tried them yet, but they look heavenly. We are definitely looking forward to returning the next time we are in Casa Grande. Do yourself a favor and plan a day trip to do some thrifting and hit the Cook E for sustenance.

My spouse and I both had breakfast. Coffee, bacon, eggs, toast, and potatoes. Prepared well and tasty.Service was fast and coffee never ran dry,This is an older diner located off a downtown street and while a little dated the seating area was clean and well kept.Because this is downtown parking can be a problem, but a little walk is always welcome.

I drive by this place so often taking my son to work that I decided I needed to check it out. I am really glad that I did! I stopped in on a Sunday morning and was easily able to find street parking.I was seated immediately and after a few minutes placed my order. I chose the scrambled eggs, home potatoes, bacon, and wheat toast, with orange juice to wash it all down.The food was served very quickly, every bite was absolutely delicious, and my hunger was definitely satisfiedtisfied! All employees were very polite and good at getting things done. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs.I love the feel of this place, they have some board games in the back corner, and a fish tank with at least one fish in it. Up front there is a bakery counter with lots of cookie options, I had to resist the urge to snatch some up. All around the decor is very homey and comfortable.I especially loved the two little signs by the kitchen, they made me chuckle. If you are ever in Old Town Casa Grande, be sure to check this place out. It is family owned and operated, it is obvious that they take pride in that!

We recently went to this cafe, early morning. The food was delicious and the ambience was so comforting. It's a great place to enjoy a delicious breakfast!

The food has always been tasty and presented well. But it's the kind of food you want to eat. But it's just too much work to make for just yourself . You will always enjoy eating there. The staff is warm and inviting. You always feel welcome, and you're always proud to take someone new with you. But then there's the cookies.How can I explain them.It's like this , these are the types of cookies your mom thought she could make. But in reality, it was your grandmother who would make these cookies to die for. I don't care how full you are when it's time to pay the bill. You must grab a couple of these cookies to go. But don't forget to get 2 for your significant other. Enjoy!

Friendly, Fast, & Tasty - plus Cookies!had lunch here 2 days in a row. Tex Mex hot sandwich (w thick seriously tasty bacon on a brioche bun - perfection) on the 2nd day as I kept eyeing my husband's sandwich yesterday. Yes, he always offers a bite, but it would have been rude to devour his entire sandwich. Pineapple Chicken Curry sandwich on the 1st day because, pineapple. Sandwiches are nice size served w chips and a side (cup of soup, deli salad, or side salad). Had soup both days and was pleased that the Soup of the Day was different (Caldo Queso day1 followed by SouthWest Chicken day2).Very extensive menu, truly something for everyone. With such a long menu, I was pleasantly surprised at how quick the service was and everything was fresh. Cook E Jar Bakery & Cafe certainly knows what they are doing.staff was professional and checked in w everyone.finished the meal with cookies. Orange Snickerdoodle was novel, v subtle flavor, refreshing, nice treat. Chocolate Chip w Nuts, Chocolate Chip w/o nuts (yes, as engineers we tried both variations - important to be professional), and Peanut Butter rounded out our selection but there were 3 more flavors to try another time.thanks for the hospitality

There's a restaurant in Las Vegas where the servers and staff are rude to you on purpose, it's called "Dick's Last Resort", but you can save yourself a trip and come here instead! On the plus side the food is usually pretty good. Seems to be a common theme for a lot of places in this town, they get a little chip on their shoulders because they're usually the only show in town.

Good home style cooking, comfort food style breakfast.Happy staff. Just a short wait to be seated. They could use more single person seats.

Food is excellent. Service is also excellent. Our vehicle broke down and we needed to spend some time in town. We ate lunch here and then returned for a Coke and both times we were greeted by more than friendly people and treated so very nicely. Definitely a hidden gem

Their Food Is Always Pretty Good, We've Never Had Any Issues With The Food That Is Always Made Fresh There. The Seating Arrangements Aren't All That Good, Not A Big Area To Sit However Many People In That Tiny Restaurant They Have At The Cookie Jar . Too Close Of A Range For Me. I Like To Not Be Hav'n 2 Not Be Watching Or Listening Or Listening To People Munch On Their Food. GROSS . The Services Can Be Improved, When It Comes Rt. Down-2- Customer Care . The Prices $$, Aren't Not That Bad, -4- The Food U Receive From Cookie Jar. Other Than That. My Friend Has Never Complained About The Restroom In The Men's. I've Never Seen Or Been In The Woman's Bathroom B-4-, Hopefully It's Clean. And Everything Is Up -2- Public Standards. January 28-2025. Time Is 9:50 Pm. Monday Late Night.
