I am pretty disappointed to leave this review because our family frequently ordered takeout from Cafe Rio. But the last few orders have had problems and I just had to get my order refunded because I couldn't wait any longer. I waited 30 minutes after the confirmation's posted time and nothing. It wasn't busier than usual and the staffing seemed normal, so I'm not sure what was going on. But neither of the employees I spoke to offered any estimate on the status, or acknowledge that I had waited half an hour. I don't think the first employee I spoke to during the wait meant to be dismissive, but that's how he came across. I asked the second employee if he knew what the status of the order was before asking for the refund. He looked at me but didn't respond, so I asked for the refund. It was a very strange interaction. In situations like that, it's better to keep the customer informed on what is happening, or even offer an apology. I really hope something changes and they can get the issues worked out. It's just too bad because we liked the food.

Took 15 minutes of standing at the counter to even be acknowledged. I just remembered why I don't ever come here. And the best part was they charge me $12.89 for a children's bean burrito. I questioned the cashier and she told me there was nothing she can do about that and she walked away.!!!!

The food was okay. Surprised at how there are so many locations because of the terrible reviews. The rice tastes fake (like boil in a bag fake). The shredded chicken taco was decent, but for the price, I expected more food. Overall the experience was disappointing. The drive thru was convenient, however the wait was long. The servers didn't try to get to know me. Overall, not surprised that the majority of the reviews are less than 2 stars. Would not recommend. Did not go into the restaurant, but looked fairly clean, but was not busy, which is why I was surprised it took so long for them to take my order.

I've been to several CRs and enjoyed them.This one is convenient on Power road between Ray and Williams Field. Service by Anna was fast and friendly. The dining area is spacious. Portions are large for the prices.

Terrible!!! Pulled up and the drive thru attendant was not excited to be at work. It was 8pm and looked like they were getting ready to close. Our order was wrong, so she switched the drinks out and then handed me a device that asks how much do I want to tip!! I'm like since when do fast food restaurants ask for a tip at the drive thru!! Super tacky !! Got home and the rice was hard, the horchata was like water, (and my daughter is usually loves their horchata) and they barely put any cheese on their quesadillas!! I would've been beyond livid if I had tipped for shitty food & shitty service!! Please tell your employees to NOT ask for tips at the drive thru!! I mean for a burrito you're charging over $12 ! To ask for a tip without being waited on and without trying the food??? Seriously what would the tip be for??? Are they claiming these tips??

First time at this newer location and I kept an open mind based on the reviews that are posted. Arrived just as they opened at 11am. Restaurant appeared clean as we opened however once we got to the glass to order it was filthy. The glass had handprints and food caked on it. The counters were disgusting. We didn't have a problem with poor customer service like other reviews however the cleanliness is appalling. There was plenty of staff, the food was just OK. With so many restaurants and choices we definitely won't be returning

Wish I could give zero stars! The worst customer service I've experienced. We were talked to so rudely and when we spoke to the manager he was in the back laughing at us. The manager also didn't know how to even respond. We will not return and hope that individual learns his lesson or is fired. Horrible!

This is my first ever 1-star review, but it has to be written. I tried filling out the survey that was on the receipt, but they placed a sticker over the information I needed (store #, etc.), so I couldn't register my complaint through their system.Last night was my last time going to this Cafe Rio--or any other for that matter. It's consistently chaos over there, no matter how far in advance I order from the app. Yesterday, I didn't get my order until 20 minutes after the app estimated that it would be ready. I had to stand there and wait with at least six other people who had ordered ahead. And the meals were assembled so hastily that my burrito bowl was half lettuce and half everything else.Sadly, this isn't an one-off incident. I've been there six times and it's always been the same. The crew there is perpetually understaffed and undertrained, which I blame 100% on the management. What's the point of saving a few bucks if you create a bad experience for everyone involved, and lose customers like me?Sorry, Cafe Rio. I like your menu and I love the burrito bowl when it's done right. But it's just not worth the hassle anymore.

If I could leave less than 1 star I absolutely would. We have come to this location many times and have not once had a good experience. Tonight was their last chance and we left without even ordering. I'll try to sum up our experiences as best I can but there have been many awful ones.We went though the drive through once and sat there for nearly 5 minutes without any acknowledgment. Pulled around to the window to find the girl sitting there eating a meal at the counter watching videos on her phone. We ended up going inside to order and half the food was already put away for the night. Nearly every time we have gone inside to order the whole bar top by the drink station is full of employees eating. They all stare at us and each other as if we are an inconvenience to them to be walking in during their dinner time. One of the girls that did get up to help us that night was playing with her hair behind the counter and then served us without putting gloves on. Tonight's experience was we walked in at 8:20pm an hour and half before close and they had pulled all the food out of the expo line and had it sitting on a cart out of the heat. As a customer I have ZERO idea how long that food has been sitting out and that's disgusting. They were telling the gentlemen ahead of us that they were out of most of the things he was asking for. At that point we decided to just walk out. We asked the couple by the front door as we left if their food was cold and they said they said yes. Will NEVER visit this location again. They need to purge their entire staff and rehire.
