Café Au Plait

Adorable! I used to live in this area and wish it was there when I lived there! I got there shortly before close (they were nice about it and I got my drink and left before the closing time!). I got an iced almond milk mocha. It was delicious and chocolatey but I could still taste the espresso which I liked. Loved looking around at the stuff they're selling too. This place is really big! Would be a good place to take kids. Would definitely come again.

Love the atmosphere and concept but just didn't like the coffee. This is a spacious, modern neighborhood coffee shop offering lovely work spaces and the most gorgeously situated patio overlooking the Scottsdale desert. The concept behind this coffee shop is great - within and behind the coffee bar, there's a children's play area so that parents can come to work, relax, or have meetings while their kids have something to do. Despite loving the interior and patio and being really pleased about the vegan milk offerings, the coffee was just not good. The cold brew was extremely mild in both potency and flavor and the Americano was bland and powerless as well. Higher quality coffee and I would recommend this cute cafe without hesitation, but right now I would just suggest it to working parents and tea drinkers.

Second time coming in today and it happened to be for a play date event. Just like my first visit the cafe is very clean and bright and has a great ambiance for kids and adults. I love the little shopping area in the front that supports other small local business even though I selfishly wish they had more items in my child's size. The drinks are very good, my MIL loved her iced chai and my honeybee latte was delicious. I had a chocolate caramel muffin as well which was really more of a dessert than a breakfast item, but no complaints in my book. Plenty of room for my toddler to play inside and outside both. Nice clean air conditioned space to sip on a drink and watch your kid enjoy themself. I'm sure we will be back soon.

We love this place! It's hard to find toddler-friendly spots that are safe, clean, serve really good coffee & provide a nice atmosphere to hang out for a little bit. Cafe Au Plait checks all those boxes. I've really enjoyed meeting friends here so we can each watch our kids play and catch up with coffee for a half hour. There are very few places in the valley that balance the dynamic of being welcoming for little ones and enjoyable for parents at the same time like this. The play area has plenty of toys & books and a play kitchen, tool bench, tables & chairs, blocks, etc. They host story time daily (for free) and kids craft/activities weekly. I've seen them clean and sanitize meticulously and all the employees are super friendly and attentive. When we were in here around Halloween, they had a little photo backdrop and bales of hay and tons of little party favors and stickers out - just an example of ways they make it inviting for kids & families. I haven't tried anything on the menu except for the cold brew & coffee, but they do have a number of bfast/lunch items and snacks for kids like apple sauce pouches & pirates booty at reasonable prices. Also worth punching up that they have a small retail section and everything is so cute & unique (think Etsy or PHX Flea vendors) and would be a good place to get a baby shower or bday gift.

I passed this place dozen times and I live nearby, but never bother to stop. When a friend asked to meet here one morning I was like, sure. I had a cup of hot cocoa and it was delicious! This place is very family oriented, there were few moms and toddlers meet up/ play date while I was there. Good size of kids play room with toys, very clean and friendly staffs.Beautiful view of McDowell Mountain and located half mile from Desert Canyon elementary and middle school. It's a perfect location for coffee/tea or hot cocoa stop after you dropped off your kid/kids at school in the morning or smoothie before or after school pick up in the afternoon.I'm glad that I came here and I will definitely comeback for more.

This is such a great concept for parents with littles who enjoy coffee and healthy treats while the kids have an amazing time exploring and playing - maybe even making a friend or two. The in-store boutique is also a plus because I get to shop for unique items. We will def be back for one of the pop up events sometime soon!

Such a cute little coffee shop! My daughter was attending a kids cooking class at the Classic Cooking Academy which is straight across from Cafe Au Plait. I decided to work from the cafe during her 2 hour class. There is a cute little play area for younger kids, and even with five kids playing in there I still found the environment quiet enough to work. There is a good selection of coffee, tea, and smoothie drinks plus some food available to order. The staff was super friendly and quick on drink creation and delivery. I didn't try any of the food, but the pastries looked quite tasty and many of the other customers seemed to enjoy them.

I love this place so much it's got really nice staff it's super cute they have a play area if you have kids super good food and it's right on a mountain so you can sit out side and watch the mountains I really recommend this place!!

This place has changed ownership at least three times and it really has gone downhill. Very short staffed and long wait for drinks. Items not available due to inventory. It's in a good location but I won't be back. And it will probably not make it once Bosa's opens up.
