We love blu seafood! There aren't many unique restaurants in this area but blu seafood at Verde has fantastic food AND drinks, and a friendly staff. We're lucky to call this our new favorite neighborhood restaurant! So far we've tried shrimp and pork belly tacos, surf and turf burrito, tuna tartare, crab cakes, chips and guacamole, posole...and many different cocktails.

As someone who loves seafood, I was very excited when BLU opened up in Cooley Station! Finally, I was able to come in and was very satisfied with our whole experience and meal. The location is perfect. They have a very nice outdoor patio and bar area. The inside gives it a nice ambiance. The restaurant itself is small, not a whole lot of seating, especially for groups. I would recommend a reservation to be safe (can be made thru Google/online).We came in on a Friday night, and it was busy! We had a reservation and actually got sat early, which was nice. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the ceviche - huge portion and very fresh. For entrees, we ordered the Cod Al Limon and the Surf and Turf Burrito. Again, both were good size portions. The food was perfectly cooked. Very impressed! They do have a cocktail menu as well - the White Oasis and Mochate Maria are delicious. Definitely would order both again! Overall, we really enjoyed BLU and will absolutely come back again. The location is great and places to walk around if you have time to kill. The food is delicious and so are the drinks. Definitely give it a try!

We had a great experience here last night! Whitney was our server and she was so patient with us especially cause we did not realize they were closing so soon. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, shrimp tostada, shrimp and carne burrito, octopus risotto, and 2 cocktails. All SO delish although the shrimp ceviche and tostada could've spent more time in the citrus marination cause it was still gray and seemingly raw. We understood it was probably cause it was close to closing time so we're open to going back again. All in all great experience.

After an event last Thursday, a group of us decided to stop in here for dinner. It's a new place that I never heard of until that evening. We were greeted and seated right away. Waiter was quick and attentive! He brought out complimentary cups of warm sipping broth called Jugo Bichi, which translates to naked juice. It was delicious and perfect on a cold night. I believe it was a fish broth with Ancho chilis? I can't really remember. I ordered the Guava Breeze with rum and for my entree, I ordered Shrimp Ajillo pasta. My drink was good but just a tad sweet. The pasta was good but I prefer saucy pastas. Everything tasted fresh though and the shrimps were a large size! We also got to try shrimp and fish ceviche. Those were pretty refreshing. The place is cute and is good for a casual night dinner with friends or a casual date night.

I am a lover of seafood, and an always looking for good spots, especially since there aren't that many here in Arizona. I really like the decor, with lots of light wood and baskets--even basket lighting fixtures. The bar looks great with plants hanging above it, and backlit shelves for bottles. I always like when you can see into the kitchen, and you can here. Our server was good, checking back often, but not too much. When you are seated, they will bring you a small cup of spicy fish broth. It is really yummy! We ordered the Tuna Tartare as an appetizer. It was served with crunchy tostada shells, and was SO good. Actually, I may order that for my meal next time! We also got the Rockfish Filet, served with rice, and the Shrimp Ajillo, six huge shrimp with a spicy pasta. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Everything was delish.I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It will definitely be on my list of places to come back to.

A group of eight of us stopped in on a Thurs evening... and were lucky to get seated right away! Our server was quick to greet us and get the drink orders started. I went with the Guava Breeze, a very tasty combination of vodka, guava, passion fruit, and lime! After taking our orders, they brought out a sipping soup - it was unexpected, but a really nice and yummy touch! We had a shrimp ceviche and fish ceviche for the table. I prefered the fish, but you can't go wrong with either! For my main dish, I ordered the Shrimp and Belly Tacos - a mix of shrimp and pork belly! The pork belly was a creative addition and they were excellent! There were a few growing pains typical of new restaurants, but overall I enjoyed the experience!Overall rating:****FOUR STARS****Gluten-free rating: ****FOUR STARS****

Blu Seafood is one of the newest additions to Verde! It is a Sonoran-based seafood restaurant offering tacos, tostadas, and more in a laid back but elegant space. They offer plenty of seating indoor and out as well as a full bar that is accessible to both the indoor and outdoor dining areas.Hubs and I decided to visit on their soft opening week. While there were a few minor hiccups, which is to be expected, it was clear that the staff was working hard. Our server was also apologetic. On to the food. They start everyone with sipping soup. Not sure what type of broth was used, but it was tasty and a nice touch. Then we ordered the following:Shrimp ceviche $15BLU tacos $18Fiji tacos $16We actually ordered the classic (fish) ceviche but received the shrimp ceviche instead. However, we didn't feel the need to correct them. All their ceviches are marinated in lime and come with cucumber, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and avocado. It was fresh and delicious. Most of their tacos feature shrimp, and I opted for the signature BLU while my husband chose the Fiji. The BLU comes with two fried shrimp tacos seasoned with Caribbean pepper, topped with Chihuahua cheese, Alfredito's original famous sauce, and sour cream, all served on flour tortillas. The Fiji features two fried shrimp tacos with red onion and a sweet and sour house sauce on corn tortillas. Both were flavorful and unique. We had a good experience and look forward to returning and trying more items!

Blu is a Mexican restaurant showcasing the flavors of Sonoran coastal seafood. My friend and I came on a Thursday afternoon last week for lunch and had a good experience. We were greeted and seated right away. They just opened so the interior is new/clean and I like the coastal modern decor/vibe of the place. There is a bar with a patio that opens up to the outside which is cool...Our waitress was really nice and answered any questions we had. She came back with a lil complimentary seafood soup that was delicious. At first glance of the front of the menu, you see the appies, pasta and pricier speciality dishes. If you flip to the back side you will find the tostadas, ceviches and tacos that are more budget friendly? Lols Upside down tostada- Kino Bay: of course I asked the waitress if it comes upside down?! Lols She said it just comes with an extra tortilla shell. I think the upside down part is unnecessary but no biggie it was delicious. The red sauce was flavorful and the seafood was good especially the octopus bc it was not chewy. I saw another yelper's pic of his same dish with an avocado but I didn't get any :( Dangy! Shrimp and pork belly taco - unfortunately the thin slices of pork belly were dried and overcooked. It also would have been nice if the tortillas were warm. Otherwise the flavor was good. I know a couple peeps wrote about the ikea silverware and while I did notice that too, that didn't bother me. As long as the silverware is clean and doesn't break while I'm using it I don't care where you get it from. I think what's more important is the food, service and cleanliness of a restaurant. Times are tough and things cost a lot so sometimes you gotta save money on certain things...One suggestion - if you could put a changing table in the bathrooms :)

Dinner for 8 is great! We were greeted with a starting soup with a tomato base seafood flavor which was good to warm up the body. The waiter said this is called jugo bichi which translates to worm juice where the juice has small bits. I tried a shrimp ceviche and fish ceviche (thanks to a fellow friend) where I liked the fish ceviche better. I think the texture of the raw shrimp caught me off guard. But both had diced tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, cilantro, lime and sliced avocado to top it off and fried tostada chip to go with it. Very colorful! My main dish was The President (which I realized I forgot to take a pic) is 2 soft corn tortilla tacos with shrimp, chipotle creme, red pickled onions, chihuahua cheese and cilantro. While it had a little kick to it I loved the flavors. It came with a sauce which was a bit spicy for my no-spicy -very little type of person. Ambience was nice and clean and spacious. Next time I will try some of their other dishes as they look appetizing.

Elmer did amazing with the cantaritos. Great customer service as we sat at the bar, he was very attentive. There was a female too but forgot her name. Looking forward to coming back and enjoying their delicious food. Had their shrimp Alfredo which was delicious. The shrimps are jumbo size. The fish tacos were good. But the portion of fish seemed very thin and mostly bread. Not trying those again (reason for the 4 stars). Going to edit or update on the next dish I try. They also give you a broth when they sit you down. That was delicious too. The ambiance is great. Live music playing outdoors, so it made for a fun evening/night. Come try this place out, Elmer is great at the bar.
