Today my friend and I went to an amazing show at ASU Kerr, which Esteban Ramirez was hosting a show that was a mix between poetry and music. It was great. The venue was small and intimate yet you still felt like you were getting a great quality show. A bonus was that students get 10 dollar tickets, you can't beat it! Support this local gem and beautiful local art.

Off of Scottsdale Road turn at the corner of Rose Lane at the traffic light. Follow road around to an ample parking lot. Small charming older building. The acoustics are very good here. It's an intimate space and a great venue for music, opera or theater. Tuesday before an event tea is offered and goodies virtually free or by donation or canned goods. Wednesday's beforehand is coffee and treats. Professors from ASU give background facts and add an educational piece to the program.

We went to the show here twice. One was many years ago when they had a traditional Indian dance, and another time recently we attended Christmas from a Celtic table. The venue is small but charming. The courtyard in the front is nice area to wait for the show or take a break from the show.We always sat in the general admission sections. The seats are comfy and we could see the entire show on the stage, plus on the side.

A very good friend planned her wedding here because a golf course she had reserved changed her reservation and couldn't honor it's contract. The Kerr Center is a wonderfully classic location and was more than able to handle the quick reservation change. Located in South Scottsdale and about 20 minutes north of the ASU campus, it is very accessible from the 202 and 101 freeways.Because the wedding was in the summer, we spent a VERY short amount of time outdoor and quickly moved inside for the reception. The center is beautiful. The high ceilings, exposed beams and sunken main floor lent a VERY beautiful ambiance for the wedding. Please check out this location for your special event needs. I think you will be very pleased with its location.

This venue is small. However, I believe it's ideal for a small scale musical or any other event. I like the bench seating on one side. The outer space (outside auditorium) is pretty nice. I've attended a few musical concerts here, held by Phoenix Gharana. Generally, they have a small stage in the center and chairs for seating. The outer space is utilized for serving food. These events turn out great.

I am shocked to see the negative reviews. Boo! Anyhow, I am here to leave a good one! I got married at the Kerr Cultural Center on October 15th. It was amazing!! We had 115 people. Yes, we were packed in there, but we had a blast! We moved the tables after dinner to make a giant dance floor. Almost everyone was dancing. Our family was all on the lower level and they were not bothered that they lost their table and chair. Most of the party was either dancing or outside by the bar. Location was everything we wanted! The staff was so nice! They were easy-going, flexible, and fun to work with. They tok care of all my requests and got back to me in a timely manner, usually immediately. They worked incredibly hard on the day of the wedding also. They were in contact with all of our vendors and knew well in advance all of the details we wanted for our day. The acoustics were awesome! I didn't even get a DJ because the music from the laptop sounded so great! They have sound engineers that can tweak each song as needed. I just had my playlist very organized, showed Jarrod in advance what/when I wanted the music to play, and surrendered. I was worried about it because I've been to a couple of weddings where they used their iPod and it got messed up somehow. Well, no problems here!!! If you appreciate good acoustics, professional lighting, historic buildings, friendly staff and flexibility to turn the venue into your wedding fantasy, book at this venue! I will post photos once I get them in. It was gorgeous!

As an attendee to many events here I can say the staff are very professional and always courtious. If a problem arises they are quick to fix it and the space itself is beyond breathtaking. With the history of the natural Adobe and amazing production value ASU Kerr is quite the place to be!

I'd have to give 3 stars to any music venue in Scottsdale, simply because it exists. But the Kerr isn't terribly comfortable or attractive. So don't expect much. It's a very small place, and you'll likely sit on aging folding chairs (that are at least cushioned.). My biggest gripe is the lighting. Harsh overhead lights shine on the audience, and they are very glaring and unattractive. Yes, I appreciate that Kerr is part of ASU and budgets are tight, but they are charging a fee for tickets to most of their performances. So they should put some attention on improving overall aesthetics for those who attend.
