My husband has shopped all around the valley for the best place to get plants and plant accoutrements, and he raves about the soil here more than anything else. I think it's magical, from what I can see of the tomatoes on my front porch. It's a fun spot to walk around, with shade and plants everywhere, chickens, dogs, and even an outdoor play structure for kids. We get a dozen eggs every time we come, fresh from the chickens on site. They can help you both grow your own food and eat hyper local, as they sell veggies in plant and harvested form. It's shocking how affordable this place is, especially for the quality and considering we live in a city in the middle of the desert. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful. This place is a true local gem.

Love this place! Thanks to Growing in Your Garden (Angela) for inspiring us to come all the way here; it was worth it.I needed some top soil (compost) for our native soil, and I also picked up some transplants. They make it so easy and really help if you don't really know what you should be getting. Will be back!!

I have loved the classes offered by Arizona Worm Farm. They are informative and don't seem to mine my beginner questions. I have taken advantage of the fill-your-own bucket for compost and I will be going back to get compost as well. I just planted two peach trees purchased here at a lower price than 2 nurseries I checked at. I'm starting to get worms in my garden beds and I'm so excited. This is a wonderful resource for valley gardeners!

The Arizona Worm Farm is on a mission to turn everyone on to organic gardening. Whether you come for a stroll through their endless gardens with scents of flora and compost inspiring to start your very own Green Acres; or to scoop up some of richest soil, mulch or compost the Valley has to offer, it is always time well spent to visit the farm. You can procure some of their worm castings or larvae to make your garden grow to new heights. Recently I attended two of their classes, both of which were an excellent value and offered great first hand tips for gardening success in our warm (ha! ha!) climate. I encourage u check out their website and sign up for one that suits you. Both of the classes I took included some plants and soil/fertilizer/mulch to take home with all my new found knowledge at an excellent value. One of the classes I took was led by local celebrity master gardener Angela Judd. She is an endless fount of gardening information and best practices. The class could have easily been 8 hours instead of one. So if you are a certified Master Gardener or simply want to learn what a grow bag is and what to put in it to yield a tomato or two, this is ultimate place for you to "grow" along with your garden.

We've been buying worms from the Arizona Worm Farm for a few years now for our garden bed vermicomposting. (I'll do a post on that soon). The worms produce castings that are full of microbes and make for great soil in the garden. Get them in your garden now to give them time to adjust and settle in before it's too hot. The farm sells mulch and compost by the bucket. U-scoop it, so get whatever amount that you need for any size garden. Use the Farm's bucket to measure, or bring your own. Put the compost in your garden for rich, healthy soil and cover with the mulch to hold moisture in. The farm also sells veggie starts and makes their own black soldier fly larva nutrient plus liquid and vermicompost tea. As a family, we've also attended a fun u-pick breakfast that the farm has hosted a few times, and we can't wait to do that again. Check out their website for all that they offer, including a variety of classes. The team is so friendly and helpful, and it's nice to see familiar faces year after year. While you are down in this area, you should also check out The Plant Stand and the Farm at South Mountain.

Took a class here and it was so informative! They also give you 4 starter plants and worm castings, after attending a class. I now get my raised bed soil and compost here. I love that they only sell starters based on season/weather. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and I have never had a hard time with parking. I will be back!

The Arizona Worm Farm is your one stop shop for worms, compost, mulch, and plant starts. They seem to grow year round and for starts for each upcoming season. They also offer gardening classes for beginners. Awesome place, I was very inspired on my visit and took home several starts to transplant in my garden beds, as well as some planting guides. The customer service is great too and staff is very helpful but they also leave you alone to look around. Purchased several bags of mulch and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they use plastic to bag their compost & mulch. Would prefer they use burlap sacks or something more sustainable.

I was referred here for gardening soil and it did not disappoint. I drove down a long dirt driveway and it is all dirt. There is a lot going on here. You can get bulk items or bagged mulch, dirt, etc. You just buy it there and drive around a dirt path and they will load up your car. They sell organic food grown there and also plants. I got a box of fresh eggs. There is a farmhouse next door where you pay can buy fresh food as well. It was about $40 for three good sized bags of dirt. $8 for a box of eggs. I will be coming back for more, as everything is fresh and local. The honey comes from farms between NM and here.
