I also wish I could give NO stars. BUYER BEWARE!!! DON"T GET THE GROUPON. I actually found them through Groupon...Where they for some reason not known to me have great reviews. I think they are either fake or very old. I have been swindled! I drove my disabled veteran butt that has legs that go numb for an hour to pick this cake up. In Mesa.. where they have no store. They cook it at home in Goodyear (not very far from me). Thanks for wasting my time and gas. I placed a large cupcake and smash cake order.. they said they couldn't take my Groupon but gave me deal. Little did I know it was a scam. In their cancellation policy it says (according to them) that they can keep 50% of your money if you have a discount of 50%. Why would that even been in the contract...unless they are use to people hating their product and that's the only way they can get paid. They claim they are cheapest. I just got a quote for quality cupcakes for less.I went to pick up the smash cake. The pictures are posted. For my Mexican fiesta themed smash cake pictures. Not even close. Plus I was charged an extra $20 for fake dollar store flowers.I thought well hey maybe because the cake is ugly as sin it could possibly taste good. Um no it was disgusting. We threw it away. I drove over an hour away for a cake. I went and bought a cheap and tasty one that I felt safe having my little one dig into for the pictures. I hardly ever give bad reviews. The assistant (daughter to the owner/baker was rude and only started talking to me nicely after I asked about canceling. The owner never has called me back. I will find a way to get all of my money back.I will also make a point to leave a review everywhere I can find and sharing it all over social media about my experience. I will have my friends share it so that it makes the rounds. I have already contacted groupon about this merchant. I am completely disgusted.

The definition of "ritzy", according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is "very fashionable and expensive often in a showy way". The definition of "Ritzy Cakes" is a hot mess. I seriously WISH I could give it zero stars. This place is disgusting and their cakes are a disaster. Went to a birthday party and the cake was ordered from here. The gal who bought the cake told me about the horrible customer service she received. The cake was suppose to be picked up today and no one was answering their phones. After several calls later, the arrangement for pick up was finally made. This is certainly not something I like to hear about cakes places. Now let me get into the actual cake itself. I will say that the outside looked really well done, but once it was cut into, it was an absolute disaster. The cake was super dry and very crumbly. The fondant was chewy and we could hardly cut into the damn cake. The attempt to try to cut the cake into slices completely failed because there was nothing holding the actual cake together. Probably missing ingredients. The white frosted filling was not sweet, but rather tangy. Gross. DO NOT waste your $ here.

i found this company on Groupon which I normally have more success with. I thought it would be great for my wedding. I purchased the Groupon and when I contacted the business. They said that they are not accepting Groupons until December. I purchased my Groupon in June and the Groupon expires in 90 days. I am not sure why they are adverting discounts they are not offering. I tried calling the them but they didnt not answer, they only respond to text message. I am now in the process of disputing my credit card change and talking with Groupon too. Save yourself the frustration.

I was in need of a last minute order for my mother in laws 70th Birthday celebration that took place on 1/14/2017 because the person who was doing my cake initially had an unforseen medical issue. Had I not been pressed for time, I would have done more research...it would have avoided this whole nightmare. Leiticia Pestova AKA Ritzy Cakes AKA Arizona Birthday Cakes AKA Pestova's Custom Cakes & Catering said she could accommodate my request for a 2tier Pink Champagne Cake w/Vanilla Buttercream to feed 50 for $145. Details I gave, no fondant just smooth frosting, no delivery needed, lil to no decor & to say "Cheers to 70years, we love you Emla!" Leiticia asked for payment, I said was this a deposit or payment in full? She said full because it's under $500. I was in a desperate situation & from the looks of "her cakes" "on her" website at http://www.arizonabirthdaycakes.com/ , I thought wow they look phenomenal & she has won an award too...heck yes. Was excited! The one thing she did say she couldn't do was smooth the frosting but rather could do a stucco style. That was the least of my worries all I cared about was that the cake tasted amazing. So when I paid her she said are you sure you don't want any ribbon or fresh flowers? I said no, I'm already at my limit with the cost for the cake. She said she'd do it for free, so the cake wasn't plain. I said sure that'd be great, I thought it would look like a masterpiece like the cakes advertised "on her" website. I told her the colors we are doing are teal, lavender and gold. The next day she sent me a pic of the cake, I wanted to cry. It looked slapped together horrible nothing like an "award-winning decorator!" (like her site says.) I agreed to the stucco because my niece who is a Baker could smooth it for me, I sent her the pic & asked is there anything you can help me advise as to how Leiticia could make the cake look better. She said bring me the cake & I'll fix it. I went to pick up the cake from Leiticia & it was wrapped in saran wrap! I just grabbed it & said thanks. Before my niece started to smooth it out, I said I want to taste if the frosting is good. I/we did, it was disgusting & NOT Vanilla Buttercream. I then said let me taste the cake, it was as gross as the frosting & tasted over cooked. It was a plain Strawberry Cake NOT a Pink Strawberry Champagne like the Birthdays Girl wanted. I was so sick to my stomach that I had a $145 cake that I was ready to throw in the trash. My niece said I'll make it as presentable as possible & you can at least use it for a display cake. How sad!I let Leiticia know my concerns & dissatisfaction & that I'd bring her the entire cake for a refund. She didn't respond until after I had resent my message the next day at 1:30pm. Her response: "Hi there, I'm just getting these texts now. I took an early flight to CA this morning to be with my uncle, who has cancer. I'm not sure what to say. The champagne I bought is Paques: it's $45 alone. I had people at Duza's taste the batter & they loved it. With the materials & last minute labor that was needed, I barely made anything on the cake. I want you happy so can offer you a $100 credit towards any purchase in the future." The party was starting in 4 hours & I had little to no time to focus on a reply, so I simply said: "Appreciate the response & sorry about your family. I'll definately give it some thought & get back to you after this event today is over. Thank you." I ended having to pick up a random full sheet cake at Costco and had them write on it, cost $18.99! Cake was amazing even though it's not what we wanted to serve, I wasn't serving the other one to anybody! I ended up leaving the cake at the venue & told them to trash it for all I cared. The next day after giving it more thought & reading the reviews here on yelp I then let her know that my only interest was a cash refund. Taking into consideration the mention of "champagne being purchased" & supplies, I was even willing to accept half. She never responded. I am so shocked that after all the reviews & people she has scammed, that she has not been shut down. There has to be something that can be done to get all who have been ripped off by her! Any advice is greatly appreciated! Star rating, if allowed would have been NONE!!!!!

STAY AWAY BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!They are also known as Ritzy CakesI went to a surprise party for a friend, they had bought two cakes for the event and I think the biggest surprise of the party was the cakes and not in a good way. They were a special cakes that did not resemble the event at all. Considering how much I was told they cost they were very disappointing. They looked like a 3 year old made them. I think I could have done a better job and I don't cook. When they were delivered it was very obvious of the half assed job they did. They were called and my friend was told they would refund their money needless to say they welched on that promise as well.Don't use this business they suck!

I am reading all the bad reviews and feel compelled to write about my positive experience.I also purchased a groupon 2 years ago and used it with this company. I requested a cake that looked just like the one on their website. It was not exact (hence 4 stars), but the cake was still stunning. The biggest surprise was how delicious it was. I have ordered custom cakes from other well know cake places around the valley and most look aesthetically beautiful, but taste nasty. This cake was totally yummy and fresh.

Summary: Got the order date wrong, made a completely different cake than what we wanted, cake fell apart during the wedding, dodged calls afterwards. Completely unprofessional and unreliable companyIt all started with the tasting. We tasted 4 cupcakes with this company and Tish did not even know which flavor the cupcakes were. She only knew 3 of the 4 and guessed on the 4th. The cupcakes tasted good so we went with it. We told her we wanted a white cake and sent her a picture of what we wanted. I think there may have been some confusion when she asked what our wedding colors were. Regardless we ended with a pink cake that looked absolutely ridiculous and stupid. Two days before our wedding we received an email saying that our cake was about to be delivered. Luckily we responded and told them the wedding was two days later. So this means that they 100% built and put together the cake two days before the wedding, which explains why it was falling apart during the wedding. Luckily the catering company that we hired took action and took the layers off of the cake. The flowers that Tish made on the cake looked like they were falling apart. Might be because the cake was made two days before it was supposed to be finished, or just because this place has terrible quality. Not sure. I wanted to give the company a chance to explain what happened before writing bad reviews, however after dodging several of my emails and calls, I decided not to wait. DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR FOR ANY BUSINESS. ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION AND PICK SOMEONE ELSE. I am fairly certain the majority of their reviews are written by Tish herself. One example is on their Groupon page.

HORRIBLE "customer service" ... Bought a Groupon (which THEY put out) and tried to order a cake. Of course the Groupon had piles of stipulations so I wasn't opposed to spending more money. First I called, THREE TIMES & received no call back. Then I emailed TWICE & finally got a rude response about the cake I wanted not being enough for my party .... Ok. It's for show, not eating so that doesn't matter. Then I was told I'd have to pay 65 for design, which is fine. Then I was told that for 100 bucks all I got was a sheet cake with Buttercream icing .... I can buy that for 25 at the grocery store honey .... FINALLY when I asked for a quote on the cake I WANTED she said, "we are booked on your date & Groupon is great about refunds" ..... Bitch, I never gave you a date. Book with these folks if you'd like to be milked for money & treated poorly!!!!!

Update: I have emailed the company twice with no response. The lady that referred them to me also emailed them to see if she got a response and she did. Beyond annoyed now. I posted on their Facebook page with a pic of what we asked for and what we got, and it was deleted. So I reposted it. They've also "disputed my review" of them on WeddingWire. They can do all that, but they can't respond to an email asking for an explanation of a pretty terrible $400 cake? Unprofessional is an understatement.

I also wish I could give NO stars. I as well found them through Groupon and the only reason I went with this company because they had some great reviews on WeddingWire. I do hope that this does help any new customer to be aware of the customer service and quality of what RitzyCakes/ ArizonaBirthdayCakes really offers (This is the same company)...We ordered a simple three tier cake with sugar flowers for our WEDDING... I did call before I bought the Groupon and they said they couldn't take that offer from Groupon but will give me a deal. So I talked about what I wanted and they keep adding to the price for flowers, cake tasting and to get it delivered. After I paid way too much, I scheduled our cake tasting in advance and with short notice they cancelled my appointment since they "double booked themselves." That was understandable but when we finally had our appointment Tish did not have any of the pictures I have sent to her assistant or our file about what we have bought. Luckily I had pictures I brought that I give to her to explain what we wanted. When the cake tasting was over I felt that she had understood everything I wanted for my cake. As a very organized bride to be, I did follow up about what we discussed and did not hear back from them in a MONTH. I sent 2 emails, called and nothing. So finally I got ahold of them and this is when everything went downhill. AFTER 32 EMAILS and multiple phone calls she still could not understand that I wanted!!! ONE MONTH before the wedding, I was so stressed out. Then she sent me an email the day of the wedding and the cake looked nothing that I wanted!!! I was so disappointed and when she delivered the cake she did not do anything to set the cake table up (she did say to get everything and leave it on the table so she can make the table look amazing) At this point I just didn't care for the cake at all. I was lucky to have a great florist that helped remove all the FAKE FLOWERS off the cake and replace them real ones from an extra center piece we had. The only nice thing I can say is that it did taste good.Overall, I am completely disappointed in their lack of been organized, listening to the customer, the quality of the cake. I hope this helps any new brides on customer from going through all the trouble. I definitely do not recommend ArizonaBirthdayCakes/Ritzy Cakes.
