This is the perfect venue for those of us who are retired and want to be part of the conversation with locals. The primary seating is a horseshoe counter, so you are facing the other participants. The food is plentiful and good old fashioned home cooking. We've been a couple of times now. They have a robust breakfast and lunch menu and offer specials on a weekly basis. The food is great! They do a robust take out business. But for us, being part of the local conversation is the best part - especially the sass delivered by Kathie.

This place is my definition of the quintessential diner. It is clearly a staple of this community and rightfully so. The interior is small, but homey and inviting. The wonderful staff greets you with a smile and sincere 'Good morning!' Instructions for proper etiquette line the walls, and it is clear that manners and courtesy are required here - thank you! The conversation among patrons was pleasant and lively. The food was perfectly prepared. I like my eggs over medium, simple right? It's amazing how many places get it wrong, but Alex's achieved perfection - just the right balance of doneness, but still enough to dip the crispy, buttery toast in the yolk. There's no pretention here, just a solid delicious breakfast at a fair price to start your day. If you are in the area and in search of a true piece of Americana, this is your stop.
