A Child's Joy

The name fits so well. We hired A Childs joy for our birthday party and it was a huge success. Baby goats, Chickens, rabbits, ducks all bring joy to the kids in more ways than one. The staff was professional courteous and knowledgeable about the animals. They are quick with facts and also quick on the clean up. We loved that. Although we got lucky & were able to lock in a reservation with 2 days notice. I would recommend at least a week's notice to get the date you need. Nothing beats a small petting zoo, in your own backyard! Who knew such a thing exists. Grass is preferred (animals love grass). Hope your event is as successful as ours. Enjoy!

Our school's PTA used A Child's Joy for our fall festival this year and it turned out great!! Not only did they have a great selection of rides and bounce houses, the kids also loved the petting zoo. Laurie and her staff were so great to work with, and even extra accommodating to get everything set up and taking down during our tight schedule with school hours. Would definitely use them again!! Thank you!!

Our community throws Spring and Fall Festivals and has for years. I used to use another company and they were ok, but I love working with Laurie and the crew at A Child's Joy. They are on time- often early, efficient, friendly and fun. The petting zoo is always a hit with adults and kids! Excited to work with them again for next time

this company owes me money for a job I did and it's excuse after excuse. I provided a service (face painting) and have asked repeatedly for payment. I'm ignored for months and then after texting every single day I get this response. "Sorry I'm not in charge of any of that. That is archived from 2019. That is up to the accounting company to find it." she hired me. She signs the checks. She needs to figure it out... I'm so disappointed. Hire some one else with integrity! Like me for example. We do face painting, balloon twisting, hair tinseling and glitter tattoos. text me at 602-320-0240

A Child's Joy was great to work with for my son's birthday party! We did the package with the jumping castle, petting zoo, and pony rides. The owner was very responsive and worked with us to time the delivery of everything right, she even gave us extra time with the jumping castle! She went above and beyond and worked with the park to make sure all approvals were ready to go and that they would approve our event. Basically, she tried to make it as stress free as possible. The gentleman who delivered the animals and the jumping castle was very nice and patient with the kids, and on time. Highly recommend working with them to make your event special, everyone had such a good time!

First and for most BOOK AT OWN RISK w/ this business. Trying to book with them was a hassle in itself so idk why I didn't decide to just look for another business. I purchase a gift certificate that was clearly available for purchase on their Yelp page and the owner would not honor it. She stated that they did not have an specials going on and I had to contact Yelp for a refund. Then the day of my event the employee setting up the bounce house rips a hole in it because he was not thorough and competent enough to inspect the area he was setting up their own equipment on and proceeds to blame me for the situation. He was so disrespectful towards me! I have never encountered an issues renting any bounce houses for the past 8 birthdays of my daughter or been disrespected in my own home from a employee - a paying customer! They are so unprofessional and disrespectful. The owner decided to sent me an email later that night stated that her employee was frustrated because he is responsible while the bounce house was in his care and she hopes I tipped him well because he has to buy material to patch the equipment! Lolllll she basically wanted to guilt trip me for no reason- Uh no ma'am I am not the one. You should ensure that your employees respect and are professional to your paying customers if you would like to keep clients. You are waaaay better off with Peñas Party Rentals! I booked tables for my event last minute - literally the day before and he was so kind, efficient & professional! No issues!!!

We hired A Child's Joy for pony rides at our Grandson's 5th Birthday party. The truck arrived at the appointed time. The man who came introduced us all to Fiona, the adorable pony who came to the party with him. The handler was kind and polite. He was very patient with all of the kids at the party. Some were young (siblings of the party goers) and he took the time to allow them to pet the pony and get comfortable with it instead of just having them sit in the saddle before they were ready. He stood next to the pony but out of the view of the cameras that were snapping pictures like crazy. He was very safety conscious and a total professional. Scheduling the pony ride was easy. Laurie kept in touch with me and confirmed the date and time the week and the day before the event. I had no concerns at all.Having "Fiona" from A Child's Joy attend the party was brilliant and a perfect addition to the event. I highly recommend including this special treat to any party or event.

I had such an awesome experience working with A Child's Joy! We wanted a petting zoo for my son's first birthday party and these guys were so helpful from the get-go. Laurie was not only helpful with booking, but gave me great ideas for the party- even what kind of theme or drinks or food that she thought would work! I especially loved the emails I received on the days leading up to the event reminding me about things I may have forgotten for the party. The day of the event was seamless. The animals were brought in early, everything was set up and broken down quickly, and our helper for the day (forgive me, I forget his name) was so knowledgeable about all the animals. We had the best time and I would absolutely use A Child's Joy again in the future. Highly recommend!

This company should receive 0 stars. The interaction I had with Laurie was absolutely appalling. I have never once in my life been yelled by the owner of a company, until now. I worked with Laurie on renting a bounce house for my daughter's birthday party. The City of Chandler required insurance documentation from A Child's Joy, and there was a pretty tight deadline because of the holidays. When I tried to get Laurie's cooperation she got extremely nasty with me and yelled at me over the phone. When I asked her why she was getting angry with me, she offered no explanation and continued to yell at me and vent to me about "how busy I am, and I guess I will just stop what I am doing and go get those documents for you right now!" She was incredibly rude and unaccommodating, so I cancelled my reservation with her and hired another company for much cheaper. While trying to cancel my reservation she argued with me and refused to refund my deposit despite the contract stating I am entitled to a refund. Please do not give this woman your money, there are plenty of event rental places that are cheaper, will provide a generator for you, and will not speak to you in the manner Laurie did to me. She should not be running a business.

We loved working with A Child's Joy to bring a PETTING ZOO! to our daughters 3rd Birthday Party - she loves animals so this was a perfect addition. The set-up & tear-down was quick, there was no mess left for us to clean up, and the employee & animals were kind and patient with all of the kids - especially my three & five year old who insisted on trying to catch & hold every new little friend the ENTIRE time. The bunnies & chubby goat were our favorite! My only suggestions would be for the employee to be aware of mama's trying to take pictures & step off to the side so we can get them without someone holding a bucket & scoop for poop in the background (totally necessary though!). I was still able to get my pictures & am confident that if I had asked the employee he would have gladly moved. :) We'll definitely use them again. Thanks A Child's Joy!
