Mercer's Restaurant

Got right in even though really busy. One thing you have to remember about mercers. The portions are huge. Bring yoy appetite. I had egg Benedict with potatoes. Really tasty. The portion of potatoes was big. Karen got the special if 1/2 biscuit and gravy with eggs and hash browns. The 1/2 biscuit and gravy came in a bowl and looked like a full order. Cyndi got a veggie omelet (3 egg) and the omelette was stuffed. Good place, good food and huge portions.

We came here for breakfast/brunch. Exterior-wise, this restaurant is in a very unappealing, run-down strip mall area. The inside, also seemed very bland, like almost an assisted living style color palettes, furniture and interior design. Just lacks in ambiance.I ordered half order of strawberry waffles. I thought about getting the full order or adding meat and eggs to the meal... but I'm glad I didn't. It would've been way too much for me. Perfect size. The strawberry, whipped cream all went very well with the waffles. The server was very friendly and helpful as well ;)

Great food and reasonable prices! Especially breakfast! I'm sold on the fried chicken salad, so deliciously filling!

Wanted to treat my MIL for dinner Thursday night- she is the sweetest lady! I found this local gem in Yelp and decided to take her here. Mercer's is a true Mom 'n Pop diner with unpretentious furnishing and a clean kitschy environment. We were very pleased with this fact right away.I will say the service and seating is slow, but the place is obviously a local favorite. Once we did sit down and get our drink order handled, we peruse the menu for our dinner options. I opted for Thursday night special of chicken and bacon carbonara on zucchini, instead of pasta. My MIL went with fried shrimp dinner.The carbonara was on point, flavorful, and very delightful over the zucchini. I got also a bowl of vegetable soup to go with it and found the soup loaded with vegetables. The portions here are very generous. I wound up having to take half my meal home. The prices are also very reasonable for what you get.My MIL loved her shrimp dinner. She wound up taking half of it home as well. But one thing we both remarked on is the side salad she got with it. The salad featured beets, which is not typical anymore, but used to be a very frequent fixing on a salad in diners. This was a pleasant surprise for both of us.Also, I found that their tea was superb. In fact, I was very impressed with how tasty everything was. As I said, before my only complaint was the service was a little slow. But if you can get past that Mercer's is a very good place to stop and enjoy an old fashioned diner dinner! My MIL plans to take my FIL soon! Additionally, make room for dessert. Very generous portions, and excellent choices!!

Little gem hidden in a shopping complex. The staff is very nice and attentive. Food was good and came out fast. The building is older but the service and food makes up for it.

Was making Shrimp Chowder at home and thought This could use a good fish sandwich Obviously I couldn't travel far for one, but I went on Yelp and Mercer's was #1 on the recommendation list. Well, I've tried them before and was not impressed. However, I'll always give an establishment a 2nd chance. I ordered it take out. They actually kept the sandwich separate so that it wouldn't sweat and make the bun soggy. I got to give them credit for that. I was able to build the sandwich myself, mixing the tartar sauce with the shredded lettuce another plus. I also seasoned the tomatoes I should have toasted the hoagie bun a little more because despite it being toasted it was not able to stand up to the sandwich. The fish itself was of good size and nicely breaded. However, it was not seasoned at all. Tasteless. I'll never understand why restaurants do not season food. At any rate, despite my efforts, I could only raise a sub par sandwich slightly. Oh, my Shrimp Chowder? Da Bomb!!!!

A good friend and I found Mercer's a short while back and have enjoyed several meals - both breakfasts and dinners. The food is always delicious, the place is always jumping, and service is always top notch! We've had several different servers and they've all been very quick and efficient.The cinnamon rolls and pies are GINORMOUS and so good! I got a cinnamon roll a couple weeks ago, brought it to work and shared it with 3 other coworkers - it's that big - and it's delicious!I've had the West Coast Eggs Benedict (twice!), the "3 eggs & Meat" breakfast (steak - was cooked perfectly!) and a few other dishes. Everything tastes homemade and everything IS homemade. It's perfect food and I love being able to enjoy my meals without feeling rushed.

Loved it. Favorite restaurant. Nice servers!!! Went today 7/19/3024. Fridays is clam chowder day. My husband loves the baileys cream pie.

Great service. Tasty and plentiful. I would recommend this restaurant. It was an excellent find.

Service and food are spot on.All server's seem to enjoy their job because they are always there and very happy. Compliments to the chef. We've never been disappointed. Everything is cooked the way we ask for it.Love it!!!
