Though I don't come in here often that much, I have to say that the owner is a very nice, decent, hard-working man. I spoke to him recently about a shoplifting incident last month (September 2018) that left one of his employees badly injured and bleeding after being beaten so hard with a metal cane, which, according to the Queen Anne News, that it actually broke into two pieces.I felt I should offer my support and express my concern in person. These "mom-and-pop" stores operate on razor-thin profit margins. In this day and age, I am amazed that they can compete at al with the chains such as Safeway, Metropolitan Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Costco, Amazon, etc.The owners, who are immigrants to this country, have to basically stay open 16 hours a day 7 days a week. Shoplifting eats badly into those tiny profits. So I do respect the work they do and wish more of us could support these independent small businesses rather do our shopping at the conglomerates. Please support this business!

I like this place because they have 40s. Blows my mind they don't have 40s at Safeway, met market, OR QFC.

It's a perfect little convenient store right next door to where I live. They have anything you might need from a convenience/grocery store. It's a one stop fast stop for most of my on-the-go-needs.I can make quick run here either to buy milk, drano, bread, Oreos or 6 pack. You name it! They have everything from greeting cards to magazines to lottery tickets to snacks and refrigerators of beverages. The pricing here is higher than you would pay at a large grocery store, but consider the convenience factor of shopping here. Sometimes you hit a jackpot and score a packet of Lemon Oreos. Totally worth $4 I paid for it. Also, they have very nice craft beer selection hidden away - way, way in the back! Overall, they make perfect use of their small, limited space.

For some reason their Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles always ALWAYS have more chips with the bright orange cheese on them. (You know how some bags can have chips that are almost white? So sad.)A man stands and watches for you to give the signal that you want to buy beer, then he meets you at the door and gets it for you. Great system for lazy people who don't like bending to get those heavy 12 packs. Also good for people who like to feel they are getting something super special (me, for example) hence the locked door and special retrieval man. Its almost like getting a treasured locked deep inside of the bottom of a mountain buried for years..... or even pretty much the same thing. It is beer after all.UPDATE: Although Ruffles are perfection.... Tostitos are a bit stale... still a five star because I can walk there.

Good selection. New owners make up their own prices as they go along. AND WHATEVER YOUR TOTAL IS THEY WILL ROUND UP AND KEEP YOUR CHANGE!!!! Has happened every time that I pay cash. Last time I asked for my change the guy behind counter pointed at a baseball bat and pretended to swing it at me. These jerks need to be investigated by the Better Business Bureau WA. Shady as fuck!!! I mean, this is theft no?

This place is run by humans, not robots; so, sure, life happens sometimes. But they have *always* been friendly, courteous, and genuinely interested in helping provide for the neighborhood. They consistently strive to make things better for their customers by interacting, asking questions, and listening to feedback, which is way more than I could say about the mega-corporate stores in the area. I love this place and the people who work here. Keep up the good work!

Hung up on me twice because "he didn't know what he had in stock" and refused to look. Just a rude person.

not sure why the negative reviews for this place, but maybe that's because i moved to uptown from san francisco, ca and am more used to local convenience type stores. mercer mini mart is not a market by any means.they have your standard snacks, ice cream, energy drinks, beer, wine, you name it along with instant ramen, canned food and frozen meals for those staying nearby or need something quick on the go. i go here to pick up bottles of wine for last minute dinner preparations when i don't have time to do a trip to safeway (we all know the lines are horrendous there along with the service button for alcohol and homeless population). they sell american spirits which is an ultimate plus for me. the two cashiers are always the same. super friendly, nice, and quick. they've saved me so much time. i will definitely continue shopping here to support this local establishment. their hours also changed, per their new door posting. they're open until 2 am some nights

I typically go here in a pinch since I more frequently use the major supermarkets. However, the couple who runs this establishment are quite nice and friendly. They never seem to close or take a vacations! Also, I have, in passing, mentioned that I was looking for a certain item that they did not carry. Invariably, the next time I visit they have the item in stock! Did I also mention they are a lucky store for the lottery. Happy to do business with these folks.
