I had the Monster jiro and was kind of disappointed. While the ramen had good flavor, there was much more bean sprouts and cabbage than there was noodles. The cabbage gets soggy over time.

Just okay. Broth was decently flavored, cha siu was good, noodles were okay, and toppings are as you expect. These are noodle dishes that get by with a passing score. Nothing super special about the flavors and textures. They do fill you up and satisfy a ramen craving, but there are definitely better options out there. The calamari was also mediocre. Somehow came out cold and the calamari was not as soft as I would expect. I think the Ibusuki was the best dish on the table bc of its deeper flavors (of garlic) and better balance in textures.Service was questionable but the place is pretty clean and minimal. Overall consensus : meh. Just a one time visit.

It's a decent place! Their Unagi rice bowl was good and filling. My waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, and the restaurant was quiet with music playing subtly in the background. Not sure if I'll go here again, since the entire experience was just okay, nothing remarkable, but I recommend it if you need to eat some place nearby!

For a late dinner I decided to get some ramen at Menya Jiro. Arriving on Saturday at 9pm, the venue was almost empty, so I received seating immediately and made my order of chicken karaage ($8.5) and Sakurajima ramen ($15), both of which arrived within 10 minutes. The chicken karaage arrived with a spicy aioli - unorthodox for Japanese, but well-paired nonetheless. The karaage itself seemed to have a crisper breading layer than usual. I suspect it had been double-fried, which most places skip. This allows for a greater texture contrast. When the stiffer initial resistance finally gives way, it immediately brings you to the juicy chicken. The Sakurajima ramen arrived as a slightly spicy bowl with 2 pieces of chashu and garnish. The chashu and garnish seemed decent. Notably, the ramen noodles possessed a firm, al-dente texture. You could also taste and feel the alkaline hydration that went into the making of the noodles. Either they were made in house or sourced from a high-quality supplier. Otherwise, the broth itself had a light mouth feel (think shio ramen broth), but its flavor lay between shio and tonkotsu. While my initial description may not warrant 5* instead of 4*, I left impressed by some technical details, namely the double-fried karaage and the noodles.

This is my go to ramen spot in Cambridge! The bowl size is deceiving - it looks like you dont have much food but thats just because the bowl is HUGE. The ramen is tasty and the broth feels very clean. I always end up drinking all the broth because of how much flavor it has. Only reason for four stars is because I wish they gave some more meat portions or included an egg as part of the meal for the ramen bowl, I felt like it was heavy on the noodles and veggies. I also have tried the takoyaki - nothing special but still a good fix for takoyaki. I would come back here again.I've been here a couple of times now and it isn't too hard to get a walk in table. The longest I have waited around dinner time is about 20 minutes. It is located inside the plaza on top of Bonchon.

Tucked away in the Crimson Galleria, this ramen spot was a neat find for a quick weekend lunch! The staff were professional, welcoming, and attentive. And the food was delicious -- definitely right up there with other similar Japanese / ramen restaurants in the Boston area (and very reasonable prices!)Takoyaki - wonderfully cooked with a crisp exterior and soft interior filled with large chunks of octopusUnagi bowl - the eel was cooked to perfection and so flavorful (plus there were no bones, which is not always the case with unagi!)Kagoshima ramen - their flagship ramen had the most tender chashu pork slices, which was offset nicely by the crunch of bean sprouts and fried onions; the broth was savory without having too much umami; the noodles were perfectly chewyIf you find yourself in Harvard Square looking for a quick bite, this is definitely a great spot to try!

Rather ordinary ramen, in a humble setting. I wasn't impressed by the sanitation level of the place, as the utensils and cups had odors and were not properly cleaned. The price feels unjustified even without that concern and just regarding the food.

Came here for a quick lunch, the ramen was so so. There's definitely a better option nearby. This is because of the amount of soy bean and the flavor of soup.

Jiro jr review. The broth itself is very flavorful, but needs extra extra garlic on top. The noodles were bland and ruined the bowl. They're not bouncy at all. Would not recommend coming here and giving it a try.
