Yamato Sushi Steak House

I can not get enough of this restaurant! Friendly staff, delicious food, big portions for the price, and wonderful sushi!I usually get a fried rice side each time I go, and it is the best I have EVER had! The yum-yum sauce is also the best I have ever tasted. The portions of the rice are huge, can be eaten as a meal itself, or shared between 2 people. The hibachi chicken or steak are also delicious and can be fixed to your liking (minus or plus certain veggies).The miso soup is delicious, comes with a sushi combo or the hibachi dinner, it also can be ordered individually. The lobster Rangoons are amazing! Tried once in a whim for the first time, now I order them for every meal, they are sweet and served with an orange sauce...can be eaten as an appetizer or desert! I usually get the same sushi roll every time I eat here (eel avocado roll) and it is delicious!! The sushi artist is truly that. I have never seen such beauty on a plate and this is judging others rolls I have seen come to others tables! Have been a few times where the wait was a little long, but this place is usually busy (depending on the time of day) and for a good reason. Be prepared just incase its a wait, but you will NOT be disappointed!Seating is limited because of the restaurant being small in size.

Born and raised in Southern California and lived in Japan for 3 years while in the Marines. This is some of the best hibachi I've ever had. Steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The fried rice was fluffy and flavorful. The veg was great (but not my priority). 10 out of 10 recommend. Also some of the best onion soup I've ever had.

Definitely an underrated restaurant in a small town!! The food portions are very big. And definitely priced reasonably. They have sushi specials all day!! I definitely recommend if your are in booneville

It worried me when I showed up and we were the only ones on a Saturday lunch time but I braved it in there anyways. The service was just okay....it felt dirty in there and you can feel it on the floors to when you walked on it. I got the sushi bento box. I chose the ahi, and the fish cuts were very thin with a lot of rice, so I felt like I was getting cheated on the nigiri (mostly rice). I was the only one there...they could have made regular cuts and not skimped. Overall...very disappointing after seeing high reviews.

I will definitely make this my go to place to eat in Booneville. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation was very inviting, and the prices were very fair. Their Booneville roll may be the greatest thing I've ever had in my mouth. The only reason I'm giving this four stars is because our server was quite a bit late on getting our refills, and our check. I will say that he was very nice, though, and very professional otherwise.

So happy that Booneville finally has a decent Japanese and sushi restaurant. It's not the type of hibachi grill were you sit around it and get to watch the chef cook your food. The food is all cooked in the back but you can see into the kitchen and watch it being prepared. It looked like they had a small area where the sushi chef would do the sushi in front of you but we were there pretty late so it wasn't open. I ordered the shrimp & scallops and it was all perfect. The ginger salad dressing, miso soup and even the vegetables were all perfect. My husband ordered a ribeye but said it was pretty tough. I'm still giving them a 5 because in Booneville this place is a God send! Literally!

Some of the best sushi ever! I got the spicy tuna and the tuna lovers roll. Delicious. Also I called in my order ahead of time and it was ready in just ten minutes.

Always go for lunch. Staff is very busy, and I've only seen one waitress, but does the work of 20. She's always friendly and attentive. The food is outstanding, fresh, and plentiful. It's a must go, when in Booneville

The new management is doing a good job. They have improved the quality of food and have added more hours which is desperately needed in Booneville. I especially like their gyoza and mixed fried rice. Overall, Yamato is a surprisingly good place to eat in a small town.

Yummy!!! Food is great, restaurant could be updated and deep cleaned but food is really good, take out is super fast!
