Windy City Grille

My husband & I dined here and he was thoroughly pleased since he's a Chicago native. The menu items and decor pay homage to famous Chicago landmarks and residents. The TVs were playing Chicago baseball games, so that set the scene for nice ambiance. I ordered a deep dish sausage pizza and thought it was ok. The crust was kinda crumbly. My husband loved the Italian beef so much that he ordered one to-go. I tried it as well and thought it was odd that they melted the cheese to the bread rather than over the meat. However, I loved the Giardiniera peppers and sprinkled some on my pizza. The service was great as the server was very attentive.

We happened to be nearby at the Safari Wild Preserve so we decided to check out the Windy City Grille in Como. Got there after the College Football afternoon crowd left and before the evening dinner crowd rolled in, so I suspect the wait staff was just trying to catch their breath. Even so, we were seated immediately. My son got a bacon pizza and it was loaded with bacon. I mean like if he were my age, he'd go into cardiac arrest. He loves bacon pizza so this was a hit!I had the Al Capone Italian Beef which was palatable but not to die for. My wife had a burger and they forgot the grilled onions....on the plate but not on the bill. I didn't want to be one of those people who nitpicked so I let it go. Daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs off the kids' menu but there was only one meatball so a little misleading in the advertising dept. More importantly, the sauce was a tad bit watery. And it had some green parley? on top? Kids don't really like that stuff so it's probably best to either list it on the menu or just not do it.Overall, I would like to visit again and try some other items, especially if I can watch Chicago sports live. But in terms of satiating my Chicago cravings, the cuisine falls a little short.

Things have certainly changed. I've been a regular for years on Sundays, Thursdays, and as often as possible when in the area.

Although they are pretty slow... the food is great! The employees are so kind, and the atmosphere is perfect! The patio is great for family's and children.

Popular spot in downtown Como. We sat at the bar, and though it was a busy Saturday afternoon, we were served right away. They have the best Po boy I've had outside of New Orleans! I'd appreciate them backing off on that cold a/c just a tad.

Love Windy City Grille. The fried catfish and dirty chips are my favorite. I highly recommend Windy City

Really disappointed tonight! The Chicken and Mushroom pasta dish I usually order because it is so good was so bad tonight. I have had better microwaved frozen pasta dinners than what I had tonight. Frozen grilled chicken chopped up with a mushroom or two in a watery broth!! Not the creamy sauce and freshly grilled chicken I have had before. Y'all can do better!!

Awesome atmosphere and great food! The staff is very nice and accommodating. The deep dish pizza is delicious as well as the sausage and cheese plate for an appetizer!

Deep dish is hands down the best in a 50 mile area. Place was packed with live music. Definitely recommend to anyone else.

Worth the drive! Food was awesome. Cool vibe to the location!! Will eat here again real soon!
