I've been slowly falling in love with ethnic grocery stores. I finally got my WOK. I've been wanting to get 1for some time. It's such a large variety of things in here , I seriously never knew where to be began. But I had certain ideas in mind and I knew this was the place. The employees don't mind helping but some don't speak English. I can't even began to explain everything that's in here but you gotta go..

This place is a TRIP! Definitely unlike nothing I've seen in Memphis unless I try to think back to when I was a little boy. Fifty years ago when I was small grocery stores weren't nearly as big as the Winchester Farmer's Market (converted Schnuck's / Seessel's) but I'm reminded of those days just by the sheer starkness of the dead animals laying around. This place has a selection of seafood second to none including whole fish, whole SHARKS (fin on)

Great selection of items! I need to pick up some groceries to make tonight's dinner of pupusas and plantains. Luckily I had excellent self control and was able to avoid filling my cart with all manner of Hispanic and/or Asian foods. This isn't just a Hispanic market, it has a large Asian section as well. Very big seafood section, and good meat/butcher section as well. Butcher staff was fast and friendly.

This place is like foodie heaven! There are so many interesting things to see here. I spent a good hour and a half walking around looking at everything. I was there for one thing! I left with probably 20-25 items. I was so intrigued by the selections of fruits and vegetables offered. Some of which I have never even seen before in my entire life! They have fresh seafood, lake fish, shrimp, and just about any meat you could dream of in the back. I was a little bit weary about the food safety in the butcher and seafood area but I am a bit strange about food safety and presentation though. There were tons of people buying it and they all seemed healthy so I'm sure it's fine. I will be coming back for some out of the ordinary items when I need them. They seem to have just about everything covered here. Just don't be looking for your average grocery store though. This place is definitely different than your local Kroger! I like it!!!!

Attention all gringos: you are missing out if you don't shop at this huge hispanic and Asian supermarket that has an incredibly vast selection of fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, seafood, meats, poultry (duck, Cornish hens, different chicken varieties, turkey), rice, noodles, wrappers, tortillas, kitchen gadgets, cookware, dishes, bathroom and massage tools!! They also have a fresh orange juice bar beside their lunch counter with hot prepared hispanic foods, available from 1O am until they run out, which is fairly early. And their huge seafood department with an overwhelming selection of many types of whole fish, clams, oysters and crab stays open until only 7 pm. The entire store closes at 9 pm. My pics should lure you here to a cornucopia of exotic and staple choices that will conjure up so many gastronomic visions of possible epicurean creations. This is a foodie mecca!

I love coming here. I usually come here to look for specialty ingredients for all my crazy cultural cuisine such as Thai curry and such like that. I'm sad they didn't have Palm Sugar but hey it's still fun. Also many of the workers speak Spanish so it's a great place to practice. I do note that I had trouble finding stuff in the Asian section until someone took pity on me and helped me find what I needed. My favorite place to shop. If you are used to prepackaged food , this is not the place for you. They have honest prices on everything and don't have the big box, oh it's foreign pricing; say for instance ginger is $5 a pound at K-roger but $2 a pound here. One caveat however...don't go for the super exotic stuff unless you know what it is...I once tried a fruit there that was unbelievably tasty to only go back and find out it was in season there for about two weeks...that is the way the rest of the world shops, not us

For groceries, I LOVE this place! This is the only place I'm about to buy groceries from my heritage. However, whenever I have transactions and have a chance to speak with the cashiers, the store manager - not Li(Lee) who is amazing - always finds her way to wherever my transaction is taking place and in the most condescending way speaks to me in English. I am a bilingual speaker by birth, so I have no trouble speaking Spanish or English. And if I'm handling a transaction in Spanish, and with the cashier, I have no need for condescending translation services from someone that has the customer service skills evident of cultural sensitivity training. For this store to have this lady as the customer service manager feels more like the customer monitor service for all black (Afro-Latino) customers. It could be that she doesn't have black people from her place of origin, or just not used to a black person who speaks Spanish - however, there is a big racial bias that this particular lady needs to eradicate if she's going to be considered the manager of anything. I would hate to stop patronizing this business over one person. But, to be openly disrespected because of race each time I visit - with uninvited conversation from this person - is something I will not stand for.Winchester Farmer's Market - if you're here for the community, your representation should reflect that.Because to openly celebrate racial bias from a managerial position is bizarre in 2024.One message: there are black people who are also Hispanic/Latinx - and we deserve the same level of respect and customer service as the next person.Thank you. Gracias.
