Willie Mae's Southern Soul Cooking

The food and the service were great, but the price was very expensive. I recommend this restaurant to other customers but get pricing in advance.

My sisters and I were out on a Saturday morning searching for a good place for brunch. Since we're not from there we set out our search on Yelp after seeing several soul food places closed on Saturday, we found Ms Willie Mae's Southern Soul food.... And boy are we glad we did. The service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. I can't wait to return to Memphis because they're definitely on the places to visit!!!

I don't like to be the person to leave bad reviews i normally just don't go back. However, i would like to give my input to help out on how things can improve and be better. Let start with entering i was greeted not really welcoming but greeted at least. I placed a call in order for me and my manager for our lunch break. She got catfish, fries, and mac n cheese. I got 3 tenders, fries and mac n cheese. Very very friendly over the phone. Ms. Willie Mae is very sweet. Her husband Jeff though needs to work on his professionalism and talking to customers and handling situations like a owner/manager. He argued with me about the prices listed on yelp . It made me uncomfortable and irritated because im just trying ti get lunch so i can get back to be job. I didnt even eat my food because tbh it didnt look appetizing. Nothing about my experience or the place in general made me want to come again. I believe yall can make this a great place just a few tweaks.

Willie Mae's was sooo full of southern hospitality! I enjoyed all of my food with the exception of wanting a tad more seasoning and a more firm cornbread (two things that are personal preference of course) You can tell that they love what they do! They're so kind and the pricing is pretty reasonable. Don't worry about the gas station location lol it was veryyy clean and you can peep their high rating from the health department in the video! I have an actual reaction to my first time trying the food as well on my TikTok @AkeviaKing!

I was SO glad to see them back up and running after a pause. I go for the turnip greens mainly, but the food reminds of my grandmother and h er sisters making soul food when I was little in Shelby Forest. It's the real deal!

I read some exceptional reviews concerning Willie Mae's Southern Cooking ‍. I decided to give it a try and I wasn't dissatisfied or disappointed. To be honest I don't normally like to go to a service station for good restaurant food. Well let me tell you Willie Mae's has changed my attitude in a very positive manner. When I walked inside I knew which direction to go because the aroma was just amazing. When I walked up to the counter the gentleman placing the food out was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. While I was deciding what to order Willie Mae came out to introduce herself and I was truly impressed with her awesome personality. I ordered salmon patties, macaroni & cheese and green beans. The food was served hot and fresh . Everyone can't make a good old fashion salmon patty; however Willie Mae's was exceptional. The macaroni & cheese was what I call perfection. I will definitely be going back and I will never judge anything or anyplace without trying it first from this day forward...

Ordered using UnerEats -i Ordered the neckbone dinner plate with the homemade macaroni and cheese and greens w/a cornbread muffin. I really had High hopes for this place because the pictures of the food on Yelp really looked good but it did not taste as good as i thought. The homemade macaroni reeked of garlic and the noodles were over cooked so they were very soft. It didn't taste like macaroni in any way. Couldn't even really taste the cheese because it was overpowered by the taste of the garlic. The neckbones-they were ok. You get 2 on a plate but they had a lot of fat. The greens, which i believe was Kale, was the best thing and the cornbread muffin.. can't say that I'd give this place another try. For these reasons, i give this review 3 stars

Worst food I ever eat in my life. Then they charger my card and extra $7 dollars talking about to price on the sites are wrong. Not only that I paid for a full meal with drink. I get there they give me a VIP that smell like mob water and didn't wanna give me another drink. Talking about the drink doesn't come with the meal. SMH That ain't got sh*t to do with the customer paying for it. But nooooooooo don't eat here..

Very unprofessional and disrespectful and also disorganized. experience was terrible they got my order wrong 3 times and argued with me about if my food was even paid for after bringing food back in cause it was the wrong order took order back and gave same order to another customer that was also not their order either. overall the experience was horrible. The oxtail they were good but sides where not just my experience.

Fabulous ! Outstanding !! Make ya shed a tear for foods of the past and the great souls gone!! Taste and fill ya soul with all this love she puts in the food .
