The bread was good, potatoes in the potato salad were a little crunchy, Mac & cheese was just ehhhh and the chicken was bland.
Best Whitt's anywhere! Awesome service and food!
The most disgusting bbq chicken I have ever had. The skin was slimy.
Chole, 11yrs old,
Don't let the black speckles fool you. This was the most bland, unflavorful chicken I've ever had. Just yuck.

Generally I look at an empty parking lot & vacant tables during dinner or lunch rush hours as a sign that a restaurant isn't good. In this case, because it's the only BBQ place near our house, we decided to ignore this simple litmus test and give Whitt's Barbecue a shot for dinner.Short Review: Sadly, the premise still holds true! Long Review:We've eaten a LOT of BBQ all over the south; from ATL, TX, TN, KY to CA. Each region has their own take on BBQ. In fact, each restaurant also seems to have their own way of doing things. But NONE have been like this.....We ordered the "Meat Plate", 1/2 Rack or Ribs and "Hot Wings" with mac & cheese and baked beans. (The each order came with a piece of thick bread). To start with (and a "positive"), food was ready fast. Unfortunately, most of it was barely warm. (Honestly, a sandwich from name_your_fast_food_place is hotter when ordered. But that's because most places make the food to order). The meat looked oddly grey. Judging by the size of the kitchen and the lack of customer, I am guessing that their food was prepared earlier in the day (or week) and sat in warming trays until server. It didn't seem big enough for a stone oven and I saw no signs of a Smoker. - Is their food prepared in Nashville and delivered out to the smaller locations like Pleasantville ???The "Hot Wings" in particular were cold to the touch with withered dry skin & dry meat within like day old leftovers. They were neither warm nor spicy. They were truly truly gross! So I'm not sure why they were listed as Thursday's "Special".More than anything, everything was REALLY bland and without flavor. In all, it reminded me of something you'd find in a high school or hospital cafeteria. (Mass produced, boxed or canned). The two sauces on the table; "Hot" & "Mild" were overly sweet and not to my liking. They seemed generic and without personality. - Again, like something delivered by a mass market food supply chain (like SS Pierce from my old restaurant days).Even the complimentary piece of bread was oddly nondescript and tasted store bought. It was white, thick and had the density and texture of pound cake with a hint of corn. (Though maybe that was my brain telling me it SHOULD have been a traditional southern corn bread?). It too was room temperature. So no melted buttery goodness to be found there!Needless to say, we won't be returning to this location or trying out other Whitt's Barbecue joints.

Um no.......just NO,POSITIVES: The wings were great, fall off the bone, and super tender. My dad also really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich. The hot bbq sauce (thick one) was good, too. NEGATIVE: Everything else? I got the very last order of Ribs. (at 4:30 on a Saturday) I ordered the 1/2 rack. They were SO tough and they weren't anywhere near a 1/2 rack. I got 5 HALF bones. They were so dry, burnt, and had next to no meat. My mom did the combo plate where she got 3 full size ribs that were super meaty. (albeit dry) The beans had a good flavor, but it was like bean soup......few beans, lots of liquid. The Mac n Cheese HAD to of been frozen Stouffer's or something similar. Definitely not homemade. The coleslaw was subpar, as were the fried apples and dinner roll. I will say - the prices are great, and I'd get the wings with a side of hot bbq IF I was forced to eat there. I'm glad we didn't pay a lot because it wouldn't have been worth it. Middle TN has a LOT of really good BBQ. If you can't do it well - don't do it at all.

I love Whitts so I was happy to see one here, unfortunately the food does not compare to other locations. I had the pulled pork and it was a very crunchy sandwich, pork was very dry and outer edges of the meat literally crunched when I took a bite.

This was the most disgusting bbq chicken I've ever had. Not only was the skin slimy, once it was scraped off the chicken had no taste. It went right in the trash. Not only was the chicken disgusting but so were the baked beans. If I wanted to open a can of beans and heat them in a microwave I would have gone home and done just that. Highly disappointed in Whitt's, they shouldn't even call themselves a bbq restaurant.

Wow, this place has some stinking reviews! And, that surprises me. My girl and I have been here several times. She is a southerner and appreciates the style of 'burger' that Whitts makes. I am not a southerner and while I like to actually chew my meat, I can enjoy the food at Whitts.Yesterday we had a pulled pork sandwich with all the trimmings and extra jalapenos. It was enjoyable. There is not much else to say. The place is always clean, the service always prompt and the iced tea is like most iced tea. That is, if you are a southerner, it's good...if you are not from the south, it's just a bloody awful drink that would be put to better use as a toilet cleaner...But, that's just an isolated opinion.I'll go back there in the knowledge that I will have a decent place to sit and some quite nice southern style food.

Very bland food. Not appetizing at all. First and last time there. When I seen the chicken I was shocked at how pale it looked.

I love Whitt's and I have eaten at several other locations and I do so often but this is a terrible representation of Whitt's and their delicious food! Wings were soggy and sandwiches were not loaded like they should have been! Eat at Whitt's but do not eat at this location! I will add I have brought this to their attention and "that's the way they do things".

They have some of the best wings around. The bbq is moist and has plenty of flavor albeit not a smoked flavor. But how many local places actually have the smoke flavor? Not many. Why? Because a lot of older folks don't want to taste the smoke. I myself enjoy a smoke flavor but at the same time I understand that with some bbq joints the flavor is the meat and the sauce. They're mild thick sauce is frickin awesome. Thick, slight bit of heat and a lot of sweet. If you're coming here expecting 5 star food at a 3 star price then you will be disappointed. If you come and expect a good home cooked tasting meal then you will leave content and full.

My one time visiting and I won't be back. Food had no flavor, no smoke flavor at all and portions small for a $7 plus plate. The coleslaw was dry, and just not a good meal for the money with so many other choices available.
