I wanted to love this place--we desperately need more independent restaurants in Columbia. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. **The good:** The atmosphere is fantastic, and my husband really enjoyed his *Good, Bad, and the Ugly* cocktail, while I liked my mocktail. **The not-so-good:** The food and service were disappointing. We started with the artichoke crostini, but the first bite was a disaster--my husband immediately noticed the artichokes were fermented from being too old. We ordered a second one, which tasted much better, but it arrived on an untoasted slice of bread, which took away from the texture. The parmesan truffle fries came out cold, which made the fake taste of the over-used truffle oil cling to the roof of my mouth. Next, we shared the **Green Goddess salad ($18)** and the **Birria Poboy**. The salad was underwhelming--the roti that came with it was more like an undercooked, dried-out pancake, and the dressing was a bland, whipped avocado mixture with no salt, no acid, and no real flavor. The birria sandwich was better--I found the meat and au jus to be flavorful, though my husband thought it was forgettable. **Service:** Friendly but *painfully* slow, despite the restaurant being less than half full. Overall, a disappointing experience. I suspect the review stating the food was "exquisite" was left by the owner's bff. I wanted this to be a new favorite, but sadly, we probably won't be back.

Whiskey Alley Saloon in Columbia, TN, is a hidden gem that combines rustic charm with culinary creativity. The shotgun-style layout, anchored by an elegant bar running the length of the space, creates an inviting atmosphere. It's perfect for date nights or small gatherings, with a few tables available for medium-sized parties. The bar itself is a masterpiece--rustic yet refined. We tried the rosé and an old fashioned, both crafted to perfection. The staff was attentive and friendly, with Mitch, our bartender, standing out for his knowledge of the menu and exceptional service. The real star here, however, is the food. Chef Damien Boggs and Sous Chef Sayda have curated a menu bursting with unique, complex flavors. We began with the saloon frites and dip trio appetizers. Each dip was fantastic, but the Tirokafteri was my personal favorite. The mushroom gravy with the frites? Simply divine.Next, we were treated to a Greek taco special that was nothing short of extraordinary. If this makes it onto the regular menu, do yourself a favor and order it--it's melt-in-your-mouth good. Finally, we had the goddess salad, a dish that lives up to its name. The marinated feta and house-made dressing were standout components, elevating the dish to something truly memorable.Whiskey Alley Saloon is worth the drive from Franklin. Whether you're in it for the food, the drinks, or the ambiance, this spot delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!

A great place to hangout and have some drinks! Food was okay. The chicken on the Kebob plate was a little dry and the roti was hard and cold. My husbands' food was good. He ordered the Birria Poboy and he liked it. We went on a Wednesday night and DJ Garlic was there for Drunk Bingo! It was a lot of fun. We ended up ordering more cocktails and beer to play Drunk Bingo. Service and atmosphere were great.

Place was less than half full and service was glacial. The artichokes on the crostini were fermented. Took a bite and they foamed in my mouth. They gave us a replacement and to describe it as a crostini is really giving it the benefit of the doubt. More like bread with spread. Then the green goddess salad. The dressing was just whipped avocado. No salt, no acid and lacking in herbs. Birria Poboy was decent, but the parmesan truffle fries were room temp. That led to the truffle oil coating the roof of my mouth.

This is tough one, our second visit and our first was 5 stars. However, this was our second trip the past wed and we experienced poor service, staff forgot our drink order, and they didn't prepare 1 of the 4 ordered entrees, and the food was mediocre. Hesitated to post this but we were 1 of only 2 tables in the restaurant so hard to say staff had hands full. Love the atmosphere so we'll try again once they figure out the gremlins.
