This particular Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is located in a small shopping plaza in Oxford, Mississippi. The service here was friendly and professional and I enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere. It definitely had a cool sports bar type vibe.I ended up going with a burger. Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux bills itself as cajun, but I have never tried any of the cajun offerings. This is more of a chain restaurant and the emphasis is not on kicking out top notch meals, but more of a bar food (or pub grub) type food.I enjoyed my burger. In addition, their waffle fries were good and nicely seasoned. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

As someone who frequents Walk-On's whenever I'm back home, I was deeply disappointed by my recent visit. After a long day of travel from Chicago to Oxford, I was looking forward to indulging in my favorite Louisiana platter.However, upon picking up my order and arriving home, I quickly realized that my meal was far from satisfactory. Not only was it missing the hush puppies that should have accompanied it, but the portions of catfish and fried shrimp were minuscule and overcooked. What was supposed to be a hearty platter felt more like a collection of leftovers or scraps from the fry pan.Considering the price tag of nearly $30, I expected much better quality and portion sizes. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of my expectations and left me feeling disappointed and dissatisfied.While I've had enjoyable meals at Walk-On's in the past, this particular visit was a letdown. I hope that they can improve the consistency and quality of their offerings in the future to ensure that all customers have a positive dining experience.

We haven't been to walk-On's for a while but decided to visit on 12/19 and got there around 5pm. When we first entered there was a strong odor of weed being smoked from the bar. We went straight to our table I was considering a burger or a ribeye. I asked the server how do you cook your burgers on temps he said anyway you want it so I said medium rare and he replied medium and up so I choice the ribeye cooked medium rare. When I received my ribeye it was no more than a quarter inch thick it was only a 6 or 8 oz ribeye that's supposed to be 12 ounces. It was cooked correctly but I believe it was the ribeye for the poboy sandwich. To many issues, has the management totally lost there focus or just let the employees take control of the establishment.

Do NOT believe the 3 1/2 star rating if you're looking for a huge juicy burger, bursting with flavor! There is a problem with food here in a University town....everything needs seasoning! There is no shortage of that here! Started with fried pickles that were crispy, salty, spiced just right! We tried the Hickory and the Jalapeno Jack burgers. Decent BBQ sauce and bacon with huge crunchy O'rings on that Hickory burger. Fried Jalapeños, pepper jack and a Kickin' sauce on the Jalapeno Jack burger. Cooked to a medium well, tender and seasoned deliciously!Waffle fries served with both, and crisp outside, fluffy still inside and yet again, flavor!!!!Fantastic sweet tea to cool us down too!

Don't live in the area but have eaten here twice. Unpleasant servers, too long waiting times, and prices too high for the quality of the food. My main complaint the second takeout experience was the lemon butter chicken "Bistreaux Specialty". This dish was special alright. Dried out chicken with absolutely no lemon butter sauce ZERO, green beans subbed for broccoli without asking, no bread, and no whipped cream on the doughnut bread pudding. 7 bucks for a tiny piece of pie and I better get the whipped cream. I called the restaurant back and the person that answered had to ask someone what to do to resolve the situation. Surprise surprise. They wanted me to drive back to the restaurant the next day to pick up a side of broccoli. Goes without saying this is ridiculous. How about a voucher, coupon code, taking a % off the bill? C'mon Walk-Ons....The worst park is I have also emailed the manager or whoever is at [email protected] that is littered throughout these reviews to try and resolve problems in the other negative reviews not once but twice with no response. Move along people. Nothing to see here. Bad experience. Will not be back. The end.

We had great food and great service. The portion sizes were so great we have a meal for tomorrow! Trista was an excellent waitress. She was very sweet, and we didn't have any complaints. The restaurant was clean and pleasant.

Food is okay, BUT condiments are HORRIBLE! How can you have a Louisiana menu, without Louisiana hot sauce? Not only is it better, but it has to be cheaper than Tabasco. And French's ketchup? Super GROSS! French's mustard, yes. But you serve a lot of fried food, needing ketchup. Serve Heinz! They've been getting it perfect, since 1876!!!

It's kind of sad when my 4 year old can point out that one of the waitresses butt is hanging out of her skirt... and then I look at the other waitresses and their skirts... all of them are dressed pretty inappropriately with the length of their skirt. Not the kind of environment to bring your family to!!!
