Virgie’s Place

Excellent, attentive service. Very cute hole in the wall type place that I'm sure has a lot of regulars. We ordered the crispitos (more like taquitos but all fair! Could be a regional difference). We also got the mushroom Swiss burger, fried mushrooms, and a Philly cheesesteak. Overall we would give the experience about a 7.5/10! The prices I would say are 10/10!

Wow! That is the first adjective that comes to mind as I reflect on my Sunday lunch experience at Virgie's Place in Imboden, Arkansas. We have driven past this small, southern, local diner many times on our monthly trips from Rogers, AR to Lake City, AR via HWY 412, but the timing was never right to try it. But, today was the day, and we are so glad we finally stopped to partake. They have an extensive menu of plates, sandwiches, salads, and burgers, along with some good fried sides like fried dill pickle slices. We started with those with a side of ranch and they were excellent. They also have daily specials. Today they had Fried Chicken or Fried Chicken Livers with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, roll, dessert, and a drink all for $9.99!! My wife had the chicken and I had the livers. If you are looking for some good old southern stick to your ribs diner comfort food, this is that place!! The food was just like Grandma used to make and the service was even better. The place was full of locals who all seemed to know each other but they were very welcome of us visitors. The place was clean and you can't beat the prices. Please, please, please stop by here and give them a try. I promise you won't be disappointed.

What a disappointment! We drove by the place many times. Made a special effort to wait for breakfast until we got to Virgie's (drining in from Memphis).First impression... the place is garishly painted. No problem. But the walls were dirty.The coffee (and the water) tasted like swamp water. I cannot comment on the food. We waited 30 minutes after ordering in an almost empty restaurant. Paid for the coffee swill and left.

i fish friday! Very nice employees and really good food for a small town, very much needed!
