Victorian Village is home to a row of old victorian style mansions.Parking is street meters, $1.50 per hour. The surrounding area is pretty sketchy. All the houses are next to each other all within a block. The houses are all different in their own unique way. Very pretty. Gives you that small up close glimpse at how houses were back in the day.

This was not worth the drive... luckily we were nearby because we stopped by Sun Studio. Otherwise, don't waste your time. These pics here on Yelp are all you will see anyway.

I love this place. This is my favorite neighborhood in Memphis and if I could live in one of these houses, my life would be complete (who doesn't want to live on Millionaire's Row?!). So why only 4 stars? Well, there are only 4 houses open to the public and I wish it was a teensy bit bigger. So I guess I'll just have to settle to going to the Woodruff-Fontaine House for all of their events (so fun!!), drinks at Mollie Fontaine's on the weekends (my favorite restaurant/lounge/bar/hangout in Memphis), having my out-of-town guests (and birthday party) at the James Lee House, and popping by the Mallory-Neely House for the occasional tour. If you're a Memphian, definitely explore this area. It's so cool!

** Currently, ALL of the historic properties are closed to the public for tours (with the exception of the Fontaine House, which operates as a bar/restaurant). **The Victorian Village district is composed of several preserved Victorian-era mansions. Several have been turned into museums, and can be viewed in a walking tour (tour guide required). It's located downtown on Adams Street, in a really, really, really, really, really rough part of town. Really rough. Next to the Juvenile Detention Facility rough. The area includes the Woodruff-Fontaine, Mallory-Neely, Harsson-Goyer-Lee, and Mageveney Houses. The Fontaine House alone is a commercial property. It formerly housed the restaurant Cielo and now holds Mollie Fontaine's Lounge, a funky/cool bar with a gourmet bar food menu (and a mostly-gay clientele, if you're looking for that sort of thing).

This area houses older Victorian era homes and is a real jewel in the city as most of them have been restored and a few contain original furnishings. It's defnitiely in a bad area so go during the day and they are currently closed for tours so you can only drive by them currently. I hope they reopen for tours as I enjoyed my visits there and the guides always had a lot of information and history.

I saw this online and it looks awesome, unfortunately when finding in person it was a little sketchy. Maybe I never found the right area, but off of the map downloaded from the Memphis tourism site, it led us to a place adjacent to a juvenile detention place. So we quickly drove by and were on to our next destination.

The Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum, ca 1871, located at 680 Adams Ave, eMemphis, TN 38105, in the heart of Victorian Village, is most certainly OPEN for tours and special events. The Museum is OPEN for tours EVERY Wednesday through Sunday from Noon to 4:00pm. The Museum is fully furnished and offers 3 full floors to visit. In addition to its lovely architecture and the genteel ambiance of early Memphis, the collection includes an extensive textiles collection of clothing, accessories and quilts. Exhibits, which change often, include Southern Summers, Mourning in Memphis, Victorian Romance and A Family Christmas. Call the Museum at 901-526-1469 for more information about tours and exhibits, weddings or other events.

We toured the Woodruff-Fontaine House. Lovely as ever! The tour guides were so knowledgeable. This is a must see if you are visiting Memphis.
