Up Town BBQ

I truly enjoyed the ribs! Brought back memories from my youth. There was a guy who prepared smoked ribs on Fridays at my dad's business. He'd have a radio playing classic R&B and the smell from his smoker would entice my taste buds every single time!I walk in to Up Town and the aroma hits and, ironically, they've got the classic R&B playing in the restaurant. So...for me...it was a sort of flashback to 1976!First thing I ordered was the half slab....I got sauce samples of mild, medium, and hot. Hot was my favorite, but the ribs really didn't need any sauce. That's the first sign you've hit jackpot!Oh...and service? Alexis was a sweetheart! We discussed lot on the menu. She was most helpful. I love it when a server knows the menu from front to back.

Great catfish! It was such a big filet that my whole plate was covered! Everything was wonderful.

$20 for BBQ Plate at Heritage Festival, price gouging much more vs regular price, not fair to folks attending festival

We came because it's veteran owned. The pork bbq & ribs are good , nice and smoked. I would avoid the coleslaw and onion rings as they are not the same as advertised. Beer battered onion rings are advertised but tiny over fried minced onion rings are served which are gross. The coleslaw served is yellow (mustard based) however a mayonnaise based coleslaw is advertised. Coke advertised but Pepsi served in bottles. Water also served in bottles. Baked beans and fries are acceptable. Plastic forks and plates , very informal. $60 for lunch for 3 adults. The fried mushrooms were tiny and over fried. The catfish is a large whole filleted fish but lacked flavor. We were charged for 2 water bottles and a Mountain Dew which we never ordered. The owner turned on a running advertisement of the menu, I pointed out the differences and he made excuses for the substituted side items. He attempted to make no adjustments to the check. We won't be back.

Great food, Great service, Great ambiance, and ***AMAZING BBQ*** AND ***Catfish**. The slaw and onion rings, yes! (Chef's kiss). Enjoy a feast, then walk around the square and take pictures. Up town BBQ is truly the best! Delish BBQ sauce, slaw, and onion rings, too! Truly the best! Follow your nose & your tastebuds to this clean, comfortable place. It will be your new BBQ place. Nothing like it!

Based on several visits over a few years, this is a good barbecue place. Easily, the best BBQ Bologna (go for the hot sauce) around. Pulled pork sandwich was ample and moist -- again, go medium or hot on the sauce. From an ambiance standpoint, the place is pretty simple, but the music they play really makes it -- R&B, Soul, and some Blues.

My husband and I took a drive to Uptown BBQJust wanted to make this post to let others know our dining experience was great Food service and atmosphere very pleasant! We will definitely be back!!! Be sure to check out this restaurant.

Great BBQ. Fantastic friendly service. Coleslaw is delicious and pulled pork is melt in your mouth!

Off the hook! I don't know why we have not been here before. Defiantly some great ribs, a great hickory apple blend cooked perfectly. Owner is a military vet with a great personality. A must try spot!
