Twin Lakes Catfish Kitchen

My family is from Dickson, and every since I was a little kid every time we come to visit we make it a point to come to Catfish Kitchen. I always get the half order of catfish fillet, usually with a baked potato, and I have NEVER been disappointed. No joke, some of the best catfish I have had in my life! I was able to go last week while visiting, and tried the spicy catfish fillet for the first time. The breading was a little thicker than their regular fillet, but crisp and full of flavor without being overly spicy. The sides are served family style, which is dangerous for me, because I could easily take down a family's worth of creamy coleslaw, white beans with red pepper relish, and hushpuppies before my catfish even has an opportunity to get to the table. Those hushpuppies..... soooooo good! Nice and crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Large parking lot out front with the iconic Catfish statue alerting everyone that they got the right place for catfish. The interior is unassuming, and according to my dad, hasn't changed much in the last 50 years. It's clean though, and in my opinion, if you have a good thing going, then why change? The staff is super nice, and they take cash and card. Please NEVER change Catfish Kitchen!

This use to be the place to go for great catfish. We went there a lot. This is definitely No longer the case. The first time we noticed the difference, waitress said that they had switched to a different breading for the fish. It's really not a breading any longer, it's a batter. It doesn't look the same or taste the same. Very disappointing. We tried it again after a bit... disappointing. We ate there last night for the Final time. We won't be back. What a shame. Usually the restaurant was packed, last night there were only about 5 to 8. I've heard that they're under new ownership... That I'm not sure about but I am sure the change is Not positive.

A truly exceptional spot...Boasting a delightful atmosphere of the South, brimming with charm. The service is efficient and affable. Delicious traditional southern cuisine, including the must-try catfish and various mouthwatering choices.

Farm raised fried catfish, hush puppies, Cole slaw, baked potato always delicious at Twin Lakes!

Delicious find not Too far from Nashville! Hush puppies brought out first, fresh and hot, not spicy and no jalapeños.... Good creamy coleslaw. Then the catfish filets: we ordered the regular and the spicy, it wasn't really that spicy, and both were great! The fries were great (like the ones you get at Five Guys), hot and so good! Our least favorite was the bowl of white beans-- they needed some ham flavor.Overall, we would eat here again.

This is my favorite catfish restaurant! The fish is amazing and I can eat my weight in hush puppies. Country decor gives the restaurant a lovely ambiance. Service is great also. If you are in the area, this is a can't miss experience.

Grease bomb. I had high hopes when we saw a full parking lot and then when they delivered the hush puppies and coleslaw, which were both very good. The catfish, onion rings and French fries were all so greasy we couldn't enjoy. My catfish filets didn't have much fish to them, so the ratio of batter and fry was too much. Husbands was slightly better, with bigger pieces of filet. Not sure if it was old oil, bad oil, not hot enough or sat in oil too long, but the grease was just way too much. Fries were lukewarm and kinda soggy. Onion rings waaay too salty. I love good fried catfish and was excited to try this restaurant, but unless we hear that they've changed their fry technique, we won't be back.

Delicious!! Food is always good! Service is quick and kind! Definitely go early it's always busy! Place is a little small and doesn't seem like much but definitely worth the trip!!

Food and service consistently good. Nothing fancy but food makes up for it. Catfish is the best around.

Everything was great the food and the service.The hushpuppies were awesome.Very nice folks who really seem to care about their product and the customers.
