Pew pew. Boom boom. See the difference?
My normal daily carry handgun practice target. Those low shots were intentionally fired. This was at 8 meters with my Glock 43.

When this guy showed up to audition for the "Target Ad", I wonder if he knew we'd be blasting his ass? LOL Brand new handgun.

You can see where the first burst had me pull up and to the right. Wicked experience. I've never shot a fully automatic gun before. Wow

The personalProtection. Lass my wife and I took last month was excellent. The staff was friendly and the class was informative. I have been a golf member here for over a year and rarely is the range full. The Range safety is top notch. I have also taken many private lessons. I recommend this place to all my f friends and family.

Top Gun Memphis is now my favorite place and goto for instruction, and purchase of firearms. There professionalism, instruction and helpfulness in Safety and legal rights sets a high bar if you are someone new to firearms, cc, or are looking to build upon knowledge you may already have. Martin and Will provided excellent guidance, patience, helpfulness and everything your hopes desire in an instructor. These guys were a pleasure to work with. These trainers are not only knowledgeable but are able to break down information and explain in a way that makes the "reality" of the what if's easy to comprehend. With my small stature I wasn't treated any different in my capabilities as a man. To all the gun lovers, to all the woman who wonder if they can, to those looking for building blocks to build upon I urge you -- DO NOT Walk, but RUN! A million Thankyou's Top Gun Memphis!

I just had the worst experience today 12/02/2023 moowhen I got to the gun range for the First Time. I read the rules but I still called ahead and asked for guidance and when I got there I told the clerk this was my first time. I knew I needed to buy ammo so I did that. He asked me how many targets I wanted, I had no clue and asked for help. I settled on a number and paid for everything. I had to ask for the card to be able to draw from my holster. I took the cards and everything and had to ask where the range entry was. I went through and found my assigned lane. One of the guys greeted me as I got to my lane, I greeted him. He came to me and I told him this was my first time at the range. He then took the two cards I had and mumbled something about he didn't know why "they printed them like that". I could tell he was annoyed. I asked him where to get the targets I paid for and he said "you need to get the targets out there". The clerk did not give them to me he just pointed me to the range. He then asked me about my holster. I pulled my shirt up to show him. He immediately got more aggravated and aggressive and started yelling at me about my holster telling me that I would never get my gun out fast enough with that holster. He went on to yell that "you were told about that holster in class! I pulled the unloaded gun out of the holster and I had barely taken it out when he grabbed the gun and slammed it and my hand down on the bench yelling "how would you feel if I took my gun out and pointed it at you"!! I told him I was not going to point it at him, and he said "but you did"!! I immediately apologized, twice. He told me I was going to need to give him a minute then he walked away leaving me standing there. He finally walked back and started yelling at me again about the holster saying I was talked to about it. First this was a different holster, but I just told him that the instructor in the class told me he would talk to me about the holster I had that night but he never did. He actually rudely cut me off before I finished that last statement, I had to ask him to let me finish. He was still visibly mad, not just upset. He started yelling something else at me but I don't know what it was because at that point I turned away from him. Then I told him that he was obviously mad as he continued to yell when speaking to me. He then told me that I could not tell him how long to be upset after I pointed my gun at him, it was up to him how long he would be upset. Then he walked off leaving me standing there. I finally just packed up my stuff and left the range because I was now all shook up and I know I would not be productive if I stayed. I understand that I took my gun out and he thought I was pointing it at him, but I am positive this is not the first time something like this has happened. If his temper is that short he should not do what he does. As I came out of the range he was headed back my way and then he comes to me to say, "let's go talk". I was not about to sit down and endure more yelling and a lecture from him. I could also imagine that he had gone out and talked to the staff out there about me as well. I told him I was going to leave because I was not mentally able to stay after what had just happened. I had been very satisfied with Top Gun until today. I have already paid for two more classes and since I cannot get a refund I will have to take them. After that I will never go back there. I will find another range. He is supposed to be a professional. I understand they have to be abrupt in situations that are dangerous, but the yelling and repeated tongue lashing that followed was not called for. I got the point when he slammed the gun and my hand on the bench. I apologized Again. After he continued to show anger I asked if there was someone else who could help me and he told me he was the head huncho and no one else was available, (I believe his name is Will).I did not deserve to be treated like that and I will never forget it. He wears a gun and has a short fuse. Those two things don't go together. As mentioned, I know for sure this is not the first time something similar has happened there. No one I encountered was very helpful with me being there for the first time. They should have time and patience to help their customers. I also remember specifically after my last class was over, I went to the guy to ask about my holster and was ready to buy one from there. He told me to go on Amazon and pay $10 or $12 dollars for one. I was very excited to come to the range for my first time. The experience was ruined for me. I'll take my two classes and will then take my business elsewhere. And, the restaurant is not all that is is hyped up to be. They only give a 30 min break for lunch when taking a long class. That forces you to eat in their restaurant. As stated above I have 2 more classes. I'll bring a lunch with me for both.

I've changed from a 4 star to 5 now that I've visited so often. Staffing is consistently high and the friendliness is remarkable; it's the Chick-Fil-A of ranges. I have also availed myself of the advanced training classes. Wow - really good, thorough, thoughtful and useful.

Great new gun range in an old familiar place! I am really glad someone opened up here. It is nice not to have to go to the other nearby range that's always very crowded and for some reason just makes me nervous being in there. Very good people behind the counter to help you along the way. The range rates are reasonable and they allowed me to bring my two teenage daughters with me and only use one lane. Generally only two people are allowed per lane. Thanks for that!!They have a bunch of handguns and a few AR-15 type rifles that you can rent. I always suggest renting anything you are considering buying to make sure you are comfortable with your purchase. I fired many handguns before settling on what I carry today. They have a lot more firearms for sale than the place that was here before. I am sure they will continue to stock more and more as they mature as a business. Good place to learn and practice your skills. Practice makes perfect! I for certain want to be the best shot I can be just in case it's ever needed. Oh!!! There is also a restaurant in here! I've never tried it but maybe it's good too! I'll update when I eat here...

I've been to the gun range once before but it has been years ago. I also don't recall much of it so I wouldn't really count it. So here is my "first" experience of shooting at Top Gun. As a first time customer, I had to sign up but the process was pretty easy. There are two iPads right in the front for me to fill out my information. Once you are done, if needed, there is an area where you can purchase/rent items such as: shooting targets, ammunition, guns, and etc.. As far as price, the lane rates are pretty reasonable. After you pay, you will receive your lane number and then off you go to the next room where the shooting lanes are. If you are not shooting, on the other side is a huge glass window so you would watch family or friends shoot in the range. There is also a BBQ restaurant if you're looking for something to eat. For my first experience shooting, my instructor Art, gave me a quick and detailed lesson. He was wonderful and very knowledgeable! He was able to give me a safety lesson and then taught me how to hold, load, and position the gun when it is not in use. After that, we moved on to the proper position to stand, aim and shoot a forearm. Overall, I loved it! It was a wonderful first experience. It wasn't too packed and everyone minded their own business. No one made me feel uncomfortable at all. I will definitely be back soon!

Disappointing Experience - No Instruction, Just a Money GrabI spent my entire Saturday (9 AM - 6 PM) at Top Gun Memphis for an instructor class, expecting hands-on instruction and guidance. Instead, the class consisted of a gentleman reading directly from a screen and playing videos--some of which he skipped, saying they were "not important" without explaining why.Despite this lack of engagement, I aced the written exam and proceeded to the range. After shooting, I received my target sheet, only to find three different numbers written on it with no clear explanation. When I questioned the instructor, he admitted that he didn't count some of my shots but couldn't explain why. Instead of allowing me to clarify or reshoot, he told me I'd have to repay and retake the entire 8-hour course just to shoot again. To make matters worse, when I asked for a simple demonstration on how to dismantle my firearm for cleaning, he refused and said I'd have to pay for that as well. Even when I asked if they could show me during a paid cleaning service, he still said no and suggested I "go to YouTube" instead.I paid for an instructor class and received absolutely no instruction. The entire experience felt like a waste of time and money, with constant talk about payments instead of actual training. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone serious about learning firearm safety and handling.
