Just finished enjoying The New Moon Theatre Company's production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. It was absolutely fantastic! I didn't even know this theater existed and just happened to stumble across a playbill posting in Starbucks. My family was asking for birthday gift ideas so I sent them a picture of the playbill, since I enjoy live theater AND Shakespeare! EVERYONE needs to catch this before they close it out! The talent in TNMTC is boundless. Acting. Singing. Musicianship. They do it all. It was a non-stop laugh fest. Thanks y'all for putting on such a great show and thanks to my wife and two girls for such a great gift!

I visited Theater Works on an extremely wet Saturday night, when it was raining down buckets and subsequently for a magical 2+ hours, the play I saw there wafted me away to a Stately Home in the British countryside and then during the 2nd Act to a basement apartment in Earl's Court, London! The play absolutely lived up to one of the lines spoken by a character in the play that I saw: "Fiction fills in the void when facts are not enough!"The theater's location is great and there's a parking garage right across the street, so parking is a total breeze. However the sidewalk is really beat up and broken, so if wearing heels or slippers, just be careful when walking across. We had "Will Call" tickets for a production of "Lettice & Lovage" but our name wasn't on the list, but luckily I could show the confirmation email to the ticket-office (which was basically a gentleman sitting behind a desk). I thought the production values of the show I saw were brilliant and really also enjoyed the intimate setting of the theater - only 5 rows and so every seat is a good one! Speaking of seats, this show was general admission, so would recommend getting to the theater around 15mins early if you want middle row/ central spot. Price was also fairly reasonable ($20) and all of us had an enjoyable time, plus learnt how marmalade got its name (google if you want to know more- it's a neat story and hint - if you speak French, there's a clue in the second part of the word!)They have some wine and drinks you can buy at intermission, but I am not a fan of the "Barefoot" brand, so didn't get any - also its just your basic Cab Sav Red/ and Semillon white, so if you want Shiraz or a Riesling, they don't have that available. Oh also - coupons for places to eat in the playbill, so have a flick thru that. There are some upcoming plays coming up that sound good - so will definitely be returning back to this Theater. Note: #51 of Yelp 100 challenge for 2016

The theatre is small but one directional so there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff was friendly and the show we saw, CRIB, was wonderful. It was a playwright winner and its world premiere is currently running at Theatreworks. The cast is brilliant and the premise of the story goes deeper then just an athlete accused of plagiarism. The story also deals with sports politics, racism, mental illness, poverty, and morals. I really enjoyed the play and hope he thrives is other venues as well.

Very cheap for a night out with friends or a date night! The comedy and improv are pretty funny, but the comedians only go for a few minutes And some definitely need more time! I love how they sell beer and snacks!

As a performer and producer, this venue is fantastic. As an audience member, I love the intimate setting of the space. Something very classic about being here, Incredibly immersive experience, no matter what you're watching.

I, like the other reviewers, saw my first Theatreworks and FreakEngine Improv show here a week ago. I came late on a Friday evening, and was pleasantly surprised by what a great set up they have. It's a tiny little place, very intimate and cozy. There's not a bad seat in the house, but the best (especially for an Improv show) might be the scattered tables on the main floor. Not only because you'll have more leg room, can interact more with the show and can fit a couple of friends around it, but because it is BYOB and having a table for your empty bottles is always a plus. The stage area isn't really a stage at all. The actors perform on the main floor and the seating for the patrons is raised in a 3/4 round horseshoe set up. It definitely makes it easy to see everything going on, though it won't allow for much scenery or set changes. I assume most of their shows are pretty tiny. I can't imagine a cast of more than 4-5 people, though a 1-2 man play would be ideal here. There were moments of the show I saw where all 6 performers were on stage and it got a little cramped. The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of any type of beverage or concession area. They make no mention on either the Theatreworks or FreakEngine websites about any sort of concessions, but if you've been to shows like this before it is a pretty standard assumption. It would be nice to at least have mentioned it was BYOB. I know the members of our party were ready to head back out those front doors to a liquor store stat, and probably would have had the show not been starting at that point.

This is a nice, clean, theatre with comfortable seating.Saw FreakEngine improv comedy on Saturday night and had a great time! I would definitely consider coming back to see plays/shows at this venue. It's spacious, good sound system, and nice people running the place. Clean restrooms, too.Nice bonus -- they allow you to BYOBooze to the improv show.

I grudgingly stayed up way past my bedtime to take in the once a month gem that is the FreakEngine Improv show, and let me inform you, it was worth the late night. At only $5 a person and two hours of solid laughs the Improv show hit the nail on the head. It is a very casual atmosphere, come as you are type of place. The seating is very limited and because of that there isn't a bad seat in the house. Before and after the cast is there to socialize, they seem to enjoy regulars. I gathered from the audience that the show is never the same month to month, the cast has their favorites but as the crowd is always different the show is too.

Unlike all of the other reviewers, I have not seen the Freak Engine Improv (sounds like I should) but I have seen a few New Moon plays and enjoyed both times!Since it is a small venue there's not a bad seat in the house. They offer drinks at intermission which is nice.My only beef with this place is the air conditioner. They don't turn it on during the plays because it drowns out the performers. Which is fine, but in mid-April I was burning up. I can only imagine how it is in July/August

I was given free tickets to "The women in black" from www.vettix.org so we visited the theater. I don't know a lot about plays, but I can promise you this was about as good as it gets. The theater is very intimate and you're literally in the action. This play only has 2 speaking actors and they make you visualize the words being spoken, I felt I was in England. Some of that also had to do with excellent lighting and smoke effects which were always on point. Support this local theater and the actors involved, I've missed out by not attending. I wish I was in a position to write them a large check, because they deserve it!I noticed one review that someone said there was no beverages, but that was not the case. They had wine and soft drinks for sale.
