The Red Barn Cafe

A down home restaurant with a very popular buffet and a large menu as well! We didn't opt for the buffet although it was very popular (we hear the Breakfast Buffet is wonderful as well) and tried a hamburger...Wow!!! It was delicious! I think I could have eaten two! Wonderful flavor and tasted like your Mom just cooked it up! Our server was brand new and we were well taken care of! Will return to try other items!

Good home cooking... Meet and three kind of place with excellent service and a down home country feel.

Stopped by here for lunch. Nice folks. And the place is nicely designed in country decor. Very homey feel. Food is county style. Chicken dumplings, chicken livers, country fried steak etc. They have daily lunch specials on the wall for under $10. If it were closer to us I'd come more often but we were just passing through. Cross road is actually at sycamore. Not independence.

Been passing this place for years. Finally stopped in to see what is up. Very friendly place, limited menu but that's a good thing. Catfish, sandwiches, hamburger and chicken fried steaks plus some "specials". I went safe and got a double cheeseburger and onion rings. The burger was "cafe style". It had a great crust and all the trimmings. The only thing that kept this burger from being a solid 10 , is not really anyones fault, so many places will not serve anything but well done ground beef now. I get the health issue, but medium is the best for me. I miss juicy burgers. It was big and tasty other wise. Excellent tea and the lady serving me was as nice as could be. A nice little gem in Tate County. It's out of the way, but take your time and go!ETA: they gave me some free hush puppies with my tea,....... yes sir. Very, very good!

Hate they are only open a few days a week but this is the type of place you bring your whole family and sit down and eat. Great atmosphere, great staff, and the food is incredible.

they usally don't have a very long wait, but i do not like the way they cook the food(but that is just my personal preference)and service is terrible.

The food is wonderful, the restaurant is fixed up so nice and staff is always wonderful, I am 64 year's old and this restaurant is the way it was when I was growing up , people actually care and are nice and food they take pride in.

This small family business tries very hard to to give great service, however some of the food taste canned or frozen. My favorites are the catfish (fresh) and the cheeseburgers (cooked to order)Looking forward to trying the buffet sometime.

Went on a Saturday night and they were pretty busy. We had 8 people in our party. Our waitress was normally the hostess. The food was amazing and the service was excellent! We'll be regulars in no time!
