The Pocket

So I was looking for hidden bars and speakeasies, as I normally do. I found this and it was super interesting because you have to walk through a shop that doesn't look like a restaurant storefront but it looks like a clothing store storefront. I thought that was a really dope idea that you have to walk in and then walk behind whatever you think it's supposed to be there to find the actual bar. When you come in the building is kind of dark. But when you walk back to the bar, it's super white and lit. It looks beautiful! We talked to the owner for a little bit, he was super nice and super friendly. My drink was good. Customer service was pretty good as well. We got there too late to where there was no food, but that's not why we were coming. This is a nice little hidden gem. That's the way the owner described it! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Let's talk about this little jewel in "THE POCKET"! There is a nice security guy at door and he is exceeding his job!! Dress code is strictly enforced for women and men!! No t-shirts for sure as I saw women get turned around at the door very kindly. When you walk in it's a hug mirror waiting to catch your beauty! The ambiance, the decor, atmosphere is modern and very welcoming. Now that you know to wear your good clothes but remember parking is not that easy downtown ladies. The MENU......dice rolled!! Ladies the 1st drink is free on Friday nights! I had a Red Blend wine that was top shelf delicious! I ordered the white bean hummous but that didn't have it available. I choose the shrimp tacos and truffle parmesan fries. Now the shrimp tacos and truffle parmesan fries were so appealing! That plating skills were fantastic!! Now I'm looking pretty, sitting pretty and about to eat pretty! The shrimp tacos were fresh, seasoned to perfection and they had the nerve to warm them flour shells!! By now I to dig in them truffle fries! Now I asked the waiter was the fries in Truffle Oil or truffle seasoning? She told me it's a truffle oil they use!! I was so excited if you don't know about Truffle Oil vs Truffle seasoning, please use Google right now! By far the waiter knew the menu AND the ingredients!! Them darn truffle fries was absolutely delicious!! Cooked not too hard not too soft! Tossed LIGHTLY in truffle oil now to over power the parmesan!! Let not forget to give the vibe and groove credit to DJ Juice that played all genre music and kept my knees hurting!!

Overall great vibe! The atmosphere is perfect for a grown and sexy date night. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have crab cakes or hummus when I went. Also be advised, the service was a little slow for food and drinks, but once we got our order, I had a smile back on my face. If you like "girlie" drinks I recommend Lavender Buttons and Tyrone's Sangria . Also the Long Island was nice and strong.

It just might be a secret Memphis speakeasy with a secret password and special membership requirements...To tourists and unsuspecting Mid-Southerners alike, it appears to be a downtown bespoke shop for suit alterations. Behind the façade may be Memphis' newest, most modern-chic speakeasy. A secret location within the location might also be a scenario in this newly renovated tinker, tailor, soldier, spy situation. A hidden elevator could possibly lead you to a late night of hob nobbing and rubbing elbows with Memphis notables. If a speakeasy is enclosed within this two-story building, some of Memphis' most seasoned hospitality industry professionals could be taking care of your every need. Within the 6,200-square-foot space is a chef with a succulent history working for South Main Street's visionary "Rizzo's" restaurant. In fact, 115 Union Avenue is owned by a Rizzo's restaurant co-owner. You will see a white quartz bar, white leather booths, sectioned off VIP areas, and modern lighting fixtures. There might be a secret staircase behind an unsuspecting corner door that leads to a basement enclosure with a cigar bar called "The Tab" and a lounge with a cozy stage for live bands echoing from the surfaces of the hardwood floors, exposed brick and exclusive art. There are two simple menus with complex options: Fancy "Bespoke Original Cocktails" and tantalizing dishes, ranging from a Charcuterie and Cheese Board to Maryland Crab Cakes, Duck Tacos and Fried Green Tomatoes. If you ever find your way inside The Tailor's Union bespoke shop called "The Pocket," you might just have the night of your life that never was. Enjoyed it. This was a great spot for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Drinks where great, the band was great....

Entering through the shop is neat, would be cool if the door was a little more hidden but it was still a neat experience nonetheless.Got in early and loved it. Nice chill atmosphere, not too loud, and bartender was great. About the only thing that would have been nice is if they had a mocktail menu. As the night went on it got more crowded and there was a turning point where the music got turned up and you couldn't easily hold a conversation. It wasn't bad, just not what I was looking for.Can't really fault them much for catering to the crowd that was coming in. If you like it more mellow, show up earlier or maybe look into the membership. I'd definitely visit again and would recommend to others.

Recently relocated here from Atlanta. Was told this place had a vibe similar to Atlanta.....WRONG! Menu is VERY limited. Food take a very long time. Live music was supposed to start about 9pm, and didn't start until after 9:30. Crowd is VERY small. NO Valet parking, but again this is definitely NOT Atlanta! Would NOT compare this to Atlanta because it makes the review much worse! Clean establishment. Stairs to come down to The Pocket.

This place is just so cool. The staff is excellent and doing their work properly. The ambiance is just so light and chill. The interior compliments everything nicely. The drinks are very affordable and have a lot of great choices.
