The Older Brother

First time visiting today and had a great meal. One of the best sandwiches,our family voted, we have eaten. Large enough to share and tasted delicious. The pomme frites are really good and the wedge salad with the dill ranch dressing was very tasty. Highly recommend the turkey sandwich and the croque monsieur sandwich. Very attentive and friendly service by Kolton. The space is very unique and decorated festive. Felt like a hidden gem in New Orleans. Really like the soft music playing in the background. Definitely will return. Ask for the house pickles

Very small place with only room for about 20 people. The food and service was wonderful. The Older Brother is a great addition to the already fabulous culinary scene in Starkville.

The food was good. You can tell they pay special attention to quality ingredients and simple, yet tasteful recipes. A little on the expensive side, but it is considered a "fine foods" bistro, so that's to be expected. Service was really good; everyone was really nice and food and drinks were served quickly. Portion sizes were large enough to fill anyone. It's a small, quaint restaurant, so don't expect the environment to feel like that of a fine dining establishment or steakhouse, but the vibe still feels elegant and refined. A very nice sandwich shop. We went for dinner, and had an overall great experience.

Croque Monsieur is my favorite, as well as the frites, but my husband loves the Collard and Slaw Melt-has house cured bacon! I love this sandwich also, and I don't even like collards! The fried crab claws are a great appetizer. Has a very New Orleans feel to it-small and quaint. Service is great.

I really don't like reviewing new restaurants, but they need to know. My daughter ordered the smoked turkey sandwich and it was very salty along with my fries. The muffalette I had was fair...the meat was still cold and the odd tasting cheese was not melted. I would give it another try, since it just opened. The waiter was awesome!!! It is a small place and it was very loud. It was tough to even have a conversation with her.

Food was very delicious!! The service and atmosphere was great also. Will definitely be back!!
