There was a 10 minute wait to take the elevators to the top of the pyramid. It's $8 per person.
The Pyramid is like a giant, old fashioned lodge catered to outdoor enthusiasts.

When in Memphis, you have to visit the Pyramid. We planned it out to be there during sunset and it was beautiful. The views are breathtaking. There's no seating available and its not for those who are afraid of heights. There are a few different view points for different angles of the city. Don't miss out!

The one thing that I knew I wanted to see when I visited Memphis was the Pyramid. I know there's Beale Street and Graceland, but to me, peak Memphis is the Pyramid. Even though I'm getting to see it in the current state and not when it was an arena.Once settled in to where I was staying I decided to walk to here so that I could take it in from afar and as I neared. Walking here was probably a stupid thing, but I did it either way.As you walk towards the Pyramid you take in how this used to be used as an arena. With the vast parking lots, winding road that leads you up to the front door, you could only imagine how busy this place was on a game day.To note, this place is the eighth largest pyramid in the world. And for me to say that I got to go to a pyramid is kind of a cool thing to say. There are many things that go into to this place, and some of those are separate reviews as the inside of this place has definitely changed and adapted. It is now home to a Bass Pro Shop, Ducks Unlimited, hotel, observation deck, small museum, restaurants, aquariums, and tallest free standing elevator in the country. Other notable things in here are an archery range, shooting range, laser shooting range, bowling, and the list could go on. A very unique reuse of a building and I am glad I got to see it.

Located practically on the waterfront. Lights up at night and looks quite lovely. This is one of the popular attractions in Downtown Memphis. A must see!

Great place to view the sunset and do some Bass Pro Shops browsing! While the deck uptop is $8 and a harrowing elevator ride to the top, the sunset views are not to be missed! If you'd like to get a drink at the fish bowl, a bar (and small restaurant) surrounds a lovely curved fish tank. The Pyramid gets negative points for hotel staff not being knowledgeable about their own public happy hour on a Friday with the fire pits, music, etc. but will leave those comments where hotel mgmt can view. Check out the basketball history of the Memphis Pyramid, as well! Can you believe they played basketball here until 2001?Ra, Ra, Ra, it's the Memphis Pyramid!

The Memphis Pyramid is an iconic downtown landmark. But actually, it's really a Bass Pro Shops Megastore. If you are an outdoors enthusiast, then I believe this place is for you.Inside the massive lobby, off to the right hand side is the hotel check-in counter for the Big Cypress Lodge. Wow, a hotel inside the pyramid, that's pretty cool. I started thinking of Las Vegas, lol.And straight ahead is entering a sportsman's paradise. There's everything you can think of and the setting is from some far away Disney themed fantasyland. Just walking around and browsing felt like an escape into another world. They sell equipment for archery, camping and hunting. You can buy boats, tractors, fishing, bait and tackle, sunglasses, raingear. There was a sign for range and waterfowl. I don't even know what that is, lol. There's a General Store that makes homemade fudge and old fashioned candies like moon pies, taffies, licorice, cotton candy and jellybeans.- A restaurant called Wahlburgers.- They house alligators in a pond. - Large fish tanks. But the big highlight is The Lookout from the Observation Deck. Yes, for $8 a person ($5 for kids) you can ride the elevators to the top of the pyramid. Then stand outside from high above Memphis looking down on the city. The skyline was pretty nice including panoramic views of the bridge that connects Tennessee and Arkansas crossing the Mississippi River.Besides the Observation Deck, the Lookout at the Pyramid is a bar and restaurant offering 360 degree surroundings. Lastly, they had a lot of discounted merchandise, so it felt like shopping at a retail outlet store. Some hats were $5.99 and t-shirts $6.99. I picked up a few items along with fudge and candy.Overall, the Pyramid, or I guess you can call it Bass Pro Shops Superstore, is a fun way to combine shopping and sightseeing within one destination. I had a memorable time.

This was a crazy random stop on a road trip. Passing thru Memphis & wanting to eat with a view of the Mississippi River... & wow did we score with finding the Memphis Pyramid! It's such a unique space with Bass Pro Shops, multiple restaurants, & a rooftop view. We did a bit of shopping & perused all the wild Eye Candy... as there are live gators & other critters + boats in the ponds & so many other completely unexpected fun things happening there. We ate at the Lookout Restaurant which was really delicious plus our waitress was delightful. Took in the view & got a pic taken which was worth paying $20 for it framed to remind us of the wild adventure! It's a memory that we keep telling tales of as it's like no other!

This is a really cool place to visit and on a must list if you're in Memphis. My husband has been here before so he insisted we come to this Pyramid with a Giant Bass Pro Shop and hotel inside. It's so cool! There is a rooftop deck and restaurant you can visit and see a view of the town. It's free if you're dining at the restaurant and have a reservation - otherwise you have to pay about $8 a person to ride the elevator to the observation deck. Inside the shop are like 60-80ft trees, bridges and water filled with bass swimming around, the store is stocked to the gills and has everything you could ever want outdoorsy. There are some additional things inside and restaurants as well as the hotel which each room opens to the main atrium with a view of the middle area which is cool for people-watching but I'm not sure how soundproof it is... hotel seems more kid-friendly type. Parking was free and easy and it's near the waterfront downtown with plenty of other things to see and do in this area like see the Memphis town sign, walk the park, walk the bridge, visit Beale St. and the Peabody to see the ducks. It's all within just a few minutes.

My group had a lot of fun visiting the pyramid. The line for the observation deck was a little too long but the $8 price to go up there seemed reasonable. I loved the massive selection of anything you could possible need for the outdoors, especially clothes and supplies. There were plenty of staff members around to help you find what you're looking for and there was never a long line at the checkout. They were also very friendly and welcoming when you walked in. We didn't get a chance to stay at the hotel inside of the pyramid but it seemed like a fun and unique experience that I'd like to try sometime.

Upon visiting this restaurant we were promptly greeted by a well trained staff. They promptly sent us up to the restaurant where a young lady sat us at our table with Tina as our waitress. We found her to be well trained and knew the menu from top to bottom. After ordering our drinks were replaced well before empty. While waiting for the food we were able to tour the outside area with spectacular views of the Mississippi and Memphis skyline. Upon receiving our food, though a tad slow, we were pleasantly surprised with a great tasting well portioned meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Tina, her shortened name.
