The Memphian, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

i've visited memphis a few times and have stayed at some of the cute hotels around the city. the memphian is definitely a trendy hotel with a trendy aesthetic. the night i checked in was absolutely choatic!!!!! there were drunk people everywhere and they we're belligerent and causing absolute chaos. they were breaking into the bar, trying to get back to bar, screaming, yelling, throwing full on tantrums in the lobby, and someone even vomited in one of the elevators . it was explained that there was some sort of holiday party happening. but that's absolutely no excuse for that behavior. mind you, these were not college kids.. these were seasoned adults. my question to hotel management is: what is the bar cutoff?? a lot of these people should have been absolutely cutoff or escorted off property for their poor behavior. the guest services personnel was doing their absolute best to manage the situation, but it was so beyond their scope of management that there was absolutely nothing they could do think "lord of flies" suburban housewife edition. like these people had absolutely no decorum. the hotel is really cool, and it's sad that this was my first impression of the property. my actual room was clean and nice. so that's a plus

Hotel is nice enough. Fairly nice location though I wondered about my safety to be honest. The staff was not pleasant nor accommodating to my special needs requests. I would not come back to this hotel, special occasion or not. If the staff was nice this would be a great property.

Nicely decorated hotel in midtown. Very centrally located and easy to hop around to various restaurants or bars. This time I was just stopping by the hotel to go to the rooftop but I could see myself staying here in the future.

Great place to find food and rest when in Memphis: The Memphian has personality, generosity, convenience, gregariousness, and cultural competence like few hotels I've ever stayed in.

This is a wonderful hotel. It is off the beaten path, in an artsy section of Memphis. Latest decor in the rooms. Amazing art work in the restaurant. Comfortable and inviting lobby. And the food is really good. I highly recommend it.

Hands down super awesome place to stay in midtown. Super trendy and nestled right in the mix of some great places to eat and drink. The rooftop bar is a must to check out. Men make sure u have a collar shirt - well with it. The decor is boutique trendy. Absolutely loved our stay.

The Memphian Hotel is a super fun hotel in midtown Memphis. It is close to many restaurants and has a very trendy bar (Tiger and Peacock) on the top floor. The decor is warm and fun - I love how they pulled in pictures of Memphis. I also appreciate the little things, like they water bottles in the room and a still water tap in the hall, so you can get water whenever you need it. We had breakfast at the Complicated Pilgrim and it was really good! We will definitely be back!!

We decided to stay at The Memphian for a staycation this past weekend. We were taken aback by how stunning it really is in person. The decor was my vibe.**I was not greeted by anybody when I first walked in, so that threw me off... but here comes the fun part!As soon as we got up to the room, we were in shock. Doing a little inspecting (like any guest would when they first walk in), there was pink and black mold in the shower, used body washes (there was soap scum under the bottles), the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the sheets were pretty stained. And the pillows? Flat as a pancake! I had to call the front desk operator after 11 p.m. for more towels (they were super stingy). THERE WAS EVEN A USED TOWEL UNDER THE BED!!! I also wanted it to be known there are no utensils nor a microwave (with the number of restaurants in the area.. and RESTAURANTS in the hotel... come on now!). Oh, and if you need a robe, you better bring your own! I had to use Clorox wipes to wipe everything down. We were HIGHLY disappointed and disgusted with our overall experience. We made sure to tell the front desk before we left this morning and to our surprise.. she didn't offer an apology. For 300 a night... it's a total rip-off! This place is so overrated. Never again!**Me being the photo taker, I was livid when I forgot to snap some shots after we got to our car.

I was so happy to see a hotel in Overton square again. The memphian hotel is a beautiful hotel. Friendly staff, a bar upstairs and in the lobby, and the rooms are beautiful.

What a phenomenal place to spend our Anniversary weekend! The building is a class act, with really nice rooms, and truly outstanding service and hospitality. I have never felt so welcomed.
