A surprisingly good city course with decent length, Audubon is a no-frills track that still manages to be challenging (but not too challenging). The layout is efficient without feeling too tight or crowded. There are some mild elevation changes but it's still an easy course to walk. The fairways and tee boxes are very good (writing this for the summer of 2017) but the first cut of rough can be a bit high if they skip a day between mowings (you can lose a ball in the first cut if you're not careful). Most (but not all) greens are in good shape and generally play pretty firm and fast. Sand traps...eh. The clubhouse is spartan but does have everything you really need; extra balls, tees, cold beer, burgers, dogs and snacks. No naked lady tees. All by itself it's a good course. Add in the cheap fees (less than $2/hole with a cart) and it becomes a near-great course that punches above its weight.

I was very disappointed with course and the cart trail. Cart trail was very ruff with pot holes and broken asphalt all along the 18 holes. A lot of high weeds in different areas of the course. The worst part was parking and leaving your automobile there while you play. I was there to watch my grandson play in a jr league tournament. While there my truck was broken into. There was also another ladies automobile broken into as well. No security cameras, no security guard, nothing.....So if you go there be aware that it could happen to you......

Course is in better shape than in years past. Greens are playing well. Fast with the grain. But let's clarify something. The Fedex St. Classic has never been hosted by Audubon. It was originally hosted at Colonial Country Club until 1989 and then was moved to Southwind.

I've been here several times. This course was once used for what is now the St. Jude Golf Classic played at Southwind.

Haven't played there in years. Nice job on the revamp. You have to actually read the greens.

Great course for the value. Greens rolled fairly well. Carts have GPS with range to to green. Would definitely recommend. Only complaint were that the tee boxes were hard.

Golfed Audubon for the first time. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Cart paths are in BAD need of repair (to be fair, it looks like they are working on them). Ball washers broken. They had one new ball washer but it didn't have any water in it. Tees and greens are not in good shape. This course needs a heck of a lot of upgrades to warrant a $32 greens fee and cart rental. I'll not go back.*After sleeping on it..... they are trying to patch the cart paths. In reality, it's nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig. They need to rip them all out and redo all of them.

Really disappointed !Rough was like a cut hay field. If I was off the fairway by a foot, it was a lost ball. Lost 3One green had cut grass in piles around it.Couple of greens had 1/3 dead grass.Same price green fees as much nicer courses.

This course was NOT used for the Danny Thomas Classic.Old Colonial was located at the corner of Park and Perkins and was the location for that professional tournament. When the current colonial was built Old Colonial was sold.Go to Mortimers on north Perkins and talk to the owners there about it. Vernon "Mortimer" Bell is the father of the owners and help start the Danny Thomas Classic.
