The Juicy Crab - Memphis

Juicy crab is one of those restaurants that's a hit or miss and today was a hit. The sauce wasn't too salty like it sometimes is and I received my order literally within 5 minutes of placing my order. Another thing which is sometimes inconsistent is the spice. I ordered no spice and that's exactly what I got.

Do NOT come here if you want to eat crab. All they have is plastic forks, so it was very difficult to eat the crab legs. We ended up biting at the shell, and the hand work meant splattered bright orange sauce all over the place. The small-ish bibs only protected our shirt fronts. Our shorts and sleeves are stained now. If we'd had a metal fork, that would not have happened. We were the only ones in the place at 6p on a Wednesday. We still had to ask the server for seafood crackers and then the check. She never checked on us after we ordered. The crab legs tasted great. We also got one order each of green and black mussels, which were just okay. The potatoes have zero seasoning and are a total waste. The corn on the cob was mushy.

All in all, the food is good. Usually just go for the shrimp. Always pretty consistent.PRO TIP for this location: Don't place an order online, then show up at the estimated time to pick it up - it won't be ready. In fact, it's not until you arrive and pay that your order gets puts in to the kitchen, so prepare for another 15-minute wait onsite.Staff says they've had issues with unpaid online orders not being picked up. That said, I don't recall seeing an online payment option, so maybe that could clear things up.

Rolled up for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was literally 1 car in the entire parking lot. Made me a bit apprehensive but we gave it a shot. This was my first time in. Our server Timya (I think) was great. She was very attentive. I asked and there was only 3 people working the whole restaurant. They had to serve, bartend, bus tables, hostess AND cook. So hats off to them. Now to the food and the experience. We ordered shrimp and crab legs in a garlic butter sauce. The food was REALLY good. The garlic butter sauce was very tasty. Here is the down part. We ordered crab legs and received them without a cracker, seafood fork or any tool to help. We asked for a cracker and she brought one (there are 2 of us). I asked for another and she said she would try to find one. Apparently they have had a lot stolen from the restaurant. I asked for a seafood fork and they didn't have any. I am very good at shelling crab legs but it is quite difficult without the appropriate tools. I literally had to fight my food to reap rewards. Even though it was tasty I don't want to endure a workout to get to my food. I will not be dropping that kind of money again until they can provide a better experience for me.

I had to finally try out Juicy Crab after a bunch of people I know raved about how good it was. I will say it was good, but not the absolute best.My friend and I visited on a Monday evening. The restaurant was pretty busy, so I expected to wait a while. It didn't take long for us to be seated and for the waiter to take our orders.Food took maybe 20-30 minutes to come out, but it was hot and seemingly fresh so I had no complaints. The service was a bit slow though. Our waiter repeatedly forgot to bring us water and we didn't even get everything we needed for our seafood feast. No bucket to place shells, no bibs, etc. No big deal, but would've been nice to have. Now the food. My friend and I both ordered the Juicy Cruise special and added a lobster tail. I got the juicy special sauce, extra hot. It was not hot at all, but the flavor was okay. Overall, it wasn't the best seafood I've ever had, but I'd visit again!

There was hair in my crab leg. There was also a homeless man throwing it back on a girl named Jessica. They kicked me out before I could take a photo of the food. Why they kicked me out let me explain I was screaming when I saw the food then they saw the hurrendussy on my plate. Then I asked for the manager but I realized I was the manager and I said girl bye.

The service was great, food came out super fast and tasted AMAZING!! We chose medium spicy and it was so good. Nice kick but not overpowering.

I am going to say this nicely but do not order delivery from this establishment (Memphis) because you will not get a reasonable response from the manager. I received butter & garlic mussels. Some were not open, some were so cooked that there wasn't much there except for garlic and a few were just ok. I also ordered fried oysters which were cooked great! But, I also paid for onion rings that were basically raw. I talked to the manager several times and she was not concerned about the quality of the food or if I would write a review. I think that says it all! I have never written a review or complained about a restaurant, but I just threw $36 out the window. Lessons learned. I have photos that I can post if it gives me the option.

Food and service were outstanding!! Had originally read some reviews and was a little apprehensive but glad I went!! Will definitely be back!!

Mild was still plenty spicy comes with potatoes and corn on the cob. They include gloves and a bib with your take out order.
