They were not open. I am not sure how Yelp gets updated but the lack of reliable hours makes it difficult to use and rely on when choosing a place to eat.

Great food! A cute mom and pop business that had lots of choices. I had chicken strips and the rest of the family had catfish dinner. Lots of food and great hush puppies. They even offered me the dessert that came with the special!

Fantastic! This unassuming gem doesn't look like much to pull up to but there will certainly already be other cars there, as the locals certainly know this is the place to go. Inside, there are about 8 tables. We got there just after 1pm on a Monday and it remained just over half full as the lunch crowd finished up and a few more late-comers like us trickled in. Everyone there knew each other and treated each other in a friendly way. We were the only outsiders there but were welcomed warmly. The staff was timely, attentive and very friendly. Lunch was quick but relaxed and not rushed. Everything is homemade there and food was delicious. Our 4 & 9-year-olds played it safe with filled cheese & fries and chicken tenders & chips which they enjoyed, but they preferred to pick off my husband's and my plates. We each ordered one of the two specials of the day. He got the hamburger steak and I got the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious. We could pick 3 sides. We each picked the green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and I got the cole slaw and my husband picked fried okra. I usually can't stand okra but agreed to try my husband's because everything else was so good. It was really good, even my kids liked it! We had to order even more mashed potatoes and gravy as we couldn't keep our kids out of our plates! We all got sufficiently stuffed and still headed out with some leftovers. Definitely look forward to going back to this family-owned restaurant when driving near here in the future. I highly recommend!

This place has been here as long as I can remember. In college we would stop in here for lunch and get the same plate of veggies and meat for $5.25, now 30 years later it's the same great food and only $7Choose the plate lunch or a sammich. Everything is $7. Awesome food. Lunch only. Cash only.

While traveling from Memphis to the coast we stopped in for lunch. This is a GREAT place! The food is truly "home style" packed full of flavor and the folks are the true representation of southern hospitality! I had the chicken fried steak, cabbage casserole & rice & dark gravy and washed it down with some good old sweet tea The food was excellent and they throw in dessert cause that's how they roll! Homemade coconut cake! YumYum! Sorry but taco bell & pilot don't come close! Drive a mile and enjoy a real meal with warm & friends! Thank You Cafe!

Small, clean place with home cooking. Open 6:30 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. Nice peopleLoved veggies, but the fried chicken was just okay. My husband didn't like his meatloaf. The cornbread was unsweetened, I like mine a little sweet, but I am not from Mississippi. You get a choice of meat, 3 veggies, choice of corn bread or roll and dessert. The peach cobbler was good, spongy dough, not like pie crust. The locals all know each other, kinds of a meeting place! There are tables and a counter with stools. There were other desserts available.

While traveling through, lunch time found us in Winona, MS. Unfamiliar with the area, we passed right by The Cafe in search of a local eatery. There's not much to find in Winona, and we gave up and headed back to hwy 82. But lucky for us, we pulled over to an obscure rectangular building and stumbled upon a meat and 2 restaurant. Unbelievably priced, I had the hamburger steak covered in brown gravy and onions, purple hull peas and squash with cornbread on the side. A glass of tea and an included dessert (homemade, moist and fresh spice cake). If you are reminiscing about your Grandmother 's southern cooking and find yourself in the middle of Mississippi, stop by The Cafe. A cool $7 is as inexpensive as southern hospitality can be. I loved it.
