Taylor Grocery & Restaurant

We HAVE to go to Taylor Grocery everytime we are in the area! I usually order the blackened chicken or the shrimp platter. You can get the shrimp fried or grilled! The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and has such good flavor from the grill! Same with the blackened chicken. So much flavor! There are so many different sides to choose from. I typically order the side salad and a loaded baked potato. Today I forgot to ask for it loaded :( You MUST try their hush puppies as well. The servers are like family! They know my family as they go once every other week at least. They joke around with their southern hospitality and it always makes dinner enjoyable!

Wow!This place blew my friends and I outta the water. Their fried catfish fillet and all the fixins were so delicious it left me and my buddies full as a tic when we wobbled outta there. Not to mention the great live music that was playing and the sweetheart of a waitress we had. I'll definitely be comin back with my family and friends for some good ole southern cookin.

The food was awesome, we had catfish and they were some of the best we have ever had. The service was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. You will not be relieve the decor that you experience. They had live music the night we visited. Their hours are short and the days of the week they are open are few but the visit is well worth your efforts. You will long remember your dining at Taylor Grocery

Taylor's Grocery is as much a wonderful small town dining experience as it is a great place to eat with some incredible options for food. The staff are all incredibly hard working and maintain a fun and friendly attitude even when this popular dining establishment is crowded and busy on a Thursday night before an Ole Miss home football game. If you are ever in Taylor Mississippi you must eat here. Located a few miles down the road from Oxford this place has it going on! Great food, atmosphere, live entertainment and excellent service! They don't serve alcohol but you can brown bag or bring your own cup! lolIt's very reasonably priced and just lots of fun!

Came here with my in laws on a Saturday evening. Just a heads up, this place gets really busy! Go early, or expect a wait. They do not take reservations, nor will they seat you if your whole party is not present. We got there a little past 6 PM and was told the wait time is an hour. We actually only waited 20 minutes. Our server was great! Good Ole southern hospitality where they still call you, "sweetie and baby." I ordered the grilled chicken. It was juicy and tender. Did it wow me? No. But the service and the quick food delivery made up for it. The food wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't make an effort to go out of my way to come back.

When in Oxford Miss. Taylor Grocery is a must. It is the finest wild caught Mississippi Mud Catfish you will eat. The plate comes with two pcs. It is the equivalent of four farmed raised Cat Fish., Two pieces will leave you satisfied. The last time we ate there we were celebrating my daughter's Birthday. The brought her a bowl of Chocolate Cobbler with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream on top. She stated the cobbler was amazing.

Service was bad-like really bad. Our waiter was clearly annoyed with our kids and even grumpily said something about their behavior-and if you've ever been around a 3 & 5 yr old, they were being quite mild. At the end, they added a $20 split plate charge because we ordered 4 entrees (for the 4 adults) but gave a few bites to our kids. We didn't even ask for extra silverware or plates. Our kids literally ate a few bites. Then we asked the staff about the charge and two waitresses were laughing at us. They also gave us the check before we were done eating (15 min into our meal). I've never had such bad service! Red beans and rice were good, along with the fried catfish and pecan pie. House salad was garbage.

If I could give this place a zero I would. Not for the food but the service. From the time we put our name on the list till taking our order. Thankful for Melissa who came to the rescue and became our new waitress. You deserve a reward for your service. You were the only reason we didn't not get up and walk out. The hostess is going to ruin this place.
