Could this be THE BEST street-taco stand in Memphis???Some days I think so!I really do love the tacos at the Taqueria Express -but please be warned:* It's a popular food truck, expect a line & whatever the weather is like today. * The neighborhood ... is ... well ... we should be safe everywhere, right?* They only take cash.* Speak little English, but they understand.* Menu has recently greatly expanded (Malitas, Sopes, Nachos, Flautas, Gordiias, etc) but I still always get an assortment of cheap & tasty tacos (Carnitas, Pastor, & Chorizo are my favs). I am happy just ordering a bunch of their street tacos! * Their tiny cups of salsa are FIRE!* My girl says they have the BEST HORCHATA in the city! (I'm not a fan of horchata, so I take her word for it.)What I don't like:-Standing in the HOT Memphis weather waiting on my tacos. This year they added a canopy & water sprayers -helpful!-Inconsistency! Most days I am putting the most flavorful tacos in my mouth & I feel my body dancing inside! Some days the taco meat will be dry. Oh well, that's what the salsa verde if for! BTW: If you would rather dine in, try their brick-and-mortar store on S Perkins

Everything about this taco Truck is okay, not the best or offer the best service. The food taste good but the service was horrible. When we order our food, it took them 20 minutes to get it ready, it was a slow day, the gentlemen who serve us did not speak much English, and he also "forgot" to put our order in when I pick up at the counter. The location where they located is not safe at all, got harassed by panhandler. I got a feeling someone can sneak up behind up and rob you. Just not safe. And if you're American or don't go there much, they don't give you any good sauce. Period.

This is one of the most talked about taco trucks in Memphis. I had been getting tacos from here for 10 years but sort of stopped 3 years ago in search of other taco trucks in Memphis. In that time away from the truck they had upgraded to a new look, a different parking situation, added new items, started accepting credit cards, etc. When I used to frequent them, tacos de carne asada were $1 each, now they are $2. I ordered a couple of those tacos and one of their newer items: tacos de birria with a cup of soup. I ordered 3 of the birria tacos and the person asked if I wanted them crispy and I said yes. They all came with the same vegetables: preserved carrots, lime, onion, cucumbers, etc. I'm pretty sure they used to have chopped white onion but this time they came with chopped red onion. The lime was dry and some of the carne asada was inedible (fat, tendon, etc.). For some reason I assumed birria tacos had melted white cheese in them but these didn't. The birria tacos are on double full sized tortillas whereas the tacos de carne asada are on double stacked street taco sized tortillas. I did get quite full. The soup definitely seemed like it was made in house (or in truck) from scratch. I wished the birria tacos were fried in some spice but they were decent tacos. The meat was super tender and not like it had been blitzed up in a processor. All around decent tacos but I feel like there's room for improvement. I'd still come back here though.

Hubby and I checked this place out on the recommendation of one of his customers. I would eat here again but it's not my favorite place for tacos. The tacos were good and cheap ($.99!!) though small. They also offer a nice variety of things to eat. They weren't the friendliest bunch but they weren't rude to me either. I love that the truck listed meat in both English and Spanish though I list mine in Spanish because that's what I'm used to calling them. They also have a sign saying you can purchase beer inside the Superman store, though I'm not sure if they get any of the profits or if they have just been asked that so many times they put up a sign. Hubby got a crap ton of tacos and I got to try some but not all. He said not to both with the barbecue one (since he ate it before I got a chance to snag a bite) and since I typically don't like that either I think I'll stick with his recommendation. They have something called mulitas which my husband says are like papusas. I didn't get the chance to ask what the differences were and just got one al pastor to try it. Ohhh myyy nomalicious goodness. I loved it. Loved: - Mulita del Pastor (my fav)- Taco de Carnitas (hubby fav)- Taco del Pastor (hubby fav)- Taco de PolloNah: - Taco de Barbacoa

I came here for the birria tacos as the other taco truck down the road was packed and boy did I regret it. They said it would be a 20 minute wait for my order to be ready and I waited almost an hour. They gave me a hard burnt sope as small as the palm of my hand. The sope was so hard I could not even take a bite out of it when I tried to. Ordered the birria tacos and they were good but they would have been better with cilantro. They only put onion with tiny specks of cilantro on my plate. Paid to get extra meat on a torta and got less than half a handful of meat. Asked for a quesadilla and did not get it. Ordered some tacos al pastor with everything as well and they also had only onion with specks of cilantro. The only thing I really like and would come back for is the tacos al pastor as they did taste really good. I am not giving them 1 Star just because the al pastor tacos were really good and the consommé for the birria tacos was really good too. Everything else was a miss though. There were literally only 4 orders in front of us and they were small orders and they also had to wait almost the same amount as us. When people started saying something about it they ignored them and closed all of their windows so nobody would go up to them and even left a line of people waiting to place their order. I would understand if they messed up because they were short staffed but they literally had 4 men and the cashier in that food truck and not many customer so there really was no reason.

Yum yum yum. Authentic food. May have to wait 10-15 min for the food but it's worth it. Best taco truck in Memphis (so far).

The food is fantastic and at a fair price! I've had their tacos asada (steak), and pollo (chicken), flautas de pollo, Pollo de Crema, Steak and Chicken Ranchero, & Tortas - some of the best I've ever had! Only issue I've ever had is with their toppings. My husband doesn't want onions and I have a slight allergy to cilantro so we always ask that our orders be prepared without onion for him and violation for me but 9 times out of 10, they have to remake it. That part feels like forever because it already takes 20 minutes for an order, & then another 20 for the remake. That's my only issue though... authentic Mexican cuisine of you don't mind the wait. You won't be disappointed.
