chocolate covered strawberries and strawberries

I'm not one for hyperbole, but this restaurant was simply horrible. First of all, the family that apparently owns/runs the restaurant allow their children to run freely around. They aren't quiet kids I'm talking about, either. These children were basically using the entire (ONE-ROOM) restaurant as their own personal playground. One of them decided to use our table as theirs, and ended up sitting with my family for the last 20 minutes of our dining experience. The second issue I had with the establishment is that the service is abysmal. Upon walking in, you're instructed to sit at any one of the three or four tables they have available, you're given a (CANNED) drink, and you inform one of the two-ish employees that work there of what you intend to order. For the rest of your visit, you're expected to fend for yourself, including getting your own food from a buffet, which is the only option. THERE IS NO MENU. There is practically no customer service involved in the experience, which could honestly be a good thing if one considers the attitude the employees seem to have adopted.Thirdly, I'll guarantee that little to none of the food was cooked in-house. It was painfully obvious that the mashed potatoes I got from the buffet were originally powdered and were served after coming directly from a box. All the other vegetables were clearly canned as well, and the meat had the distinct 'frozen' taste. The flavor that they apparently added to the food did nothing but make matters worse, with items being either drastically over-salted or bland, nearly to the point of inedibility. This lack of quality was made very apparent by the fact that, to reiterate, there was no menu available. There are, I'd assume, only up to 6-8 choices you could make, as that's all the space they have available on the buffet table itself. One would think that, with this minuscule amount of dishes, that they would cook them fresh, and with some level of skill. Sadly, this is certainly not the case. Unless forcibly dragged here by some distant relative for a reunion with both our family and the employees' children, I don't plan on revisiting Sweetie Pies.

We have a best friend that lives in Tn just miles away from Sweetie Pies. It was her Bday and I wanted to get her something she loves which happens to be Carrot cake. The woman ( I wish I remembered her name) that I explained what I was doing from NY was accomidating, kind and considerate. I specified I wanted a Carrot cake for her that was "special" something she'll never find anywhere else. Well I have to say she was shocked. She said it was huge, beautiful and the taste was out of this world. So thank you Sweetie Pies for making my gfs Birthday just as special as she is. You did a FANTASTIC job on the cake and anyone who's lucky enough to reside in Tn should really try Sweetie Pies. It's the BEST!!!! Thank you for the beautiful cake and totally understanding what we were looking for . You nailed it !!!! Sorry I forgot your name but you know who you are. Thanks so much again. Pleasure doing business with you. One day these NYers will be visiting in person. Ty!!!!
