Sweet Potato Pie

I tried the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and of course, the sweet potato pie. The food was decent--nothing particularly stood out, but it was a solid meal. The chicken was crispy, the mac and cheese was creamy, and the pie had a nice sweetness to it. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. While I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, it was still an enjoyable experience. Wouldn't mind stopping by again!

The staff was very welcoming and took time to explain answers to all of our questions. The establishment itself was nice with a full bar (though I understand it is generally only available on the weekends). As for the food, I enjoyed the catfish, the mashed potatoes, lime (or butter) beans, and cabbage. As for the negatives, I was surprised that the the greens were sweet (it as unexpected unpleasantness for me and I couldn't eat it). In addition we ordered food to go and unfortunately our order was wrong; we ordered the roast chicken and got fried (definitely advise checking to go orders).I would return to try more times but would likely eat in and ask for samples on foods.

The only downfall is theres no foundation drinks just bottles drinks first time coming here i had the wing plate and my mother in law had the turkey wing plate Scallop potatoes was good spaghetti OK I had chicken wings hot out the grease the serving is great staff is very friendly nice environment with a bar on the other side nice place i will recommend

I love the catfish, fried ribs and fried okra. Nice employees. I'll be back soon to try more menu items.

We stopped in to get some supper to go. 2 had catfish, 1 had hamburger steak, 1 had 3 piece honey gold wings. The catfish was made when you order it, they didn't sit at all and it was very good, nice seasoning and really really well cooked. Hamburger steak was fine, could have used a little more pepper in my opinion. But that's easily added. Honey good wings were very good as well. As for sides: mashed potatoes and gravy good! Sweet potato casserole good! Greens were fine. Black eyed peas were good once they had some hot sauce on 'em. Mac and cheese was pretty bland. We also got 4 deserts. Pecan pie excellent. Strawberry cake good. Sweet potato pie good. Lemon cake meh. Oh - one reviewer said they found the cornbread to be too sweet. Well they must have fixed their recipe because the corn bread was very good and not too sweet at all, just a little kiss of sweet was all. Staff was VERY friendly and kind and patient. It was a bit pricey, 105 for all that so you're gonna be dropping some coin so be aware heading in.

Love the name. Desserts looked good. I was ready to give this place a go! And? Pretty good! But expensive. Yikes. Items that were really tasty included the honey gold wings, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, cornbread, sweet potato pie. Items that were pretty good were pecan pie and strawberry cake. Okay items were lemon cake and hamburger steak. Meh was the macaroni and cheese. But four meals and four desserts (no drinks) cost $105 - before the tip. Say what??

*I did not get pictures*I visited this establishment while with friends. It was all three of our first time trying their food. I'll start with the good- the sides (mashed potato's, spaghetti and green beans) were delicious! The corn bread also was super moist and flavorful. I ordered those sides along with the two piece white meat baked chicken and..... the chicken tastes like well flavored sand paper. It was seasoned well but the meat was so dry it made the entire experience of everything else horrible. I've truly never had baked chicken that lacked moisture the way this chicken did. I should have known better though because I could tell while ordering that the baked chicken was cooked and left sitting on the hot plate. One of my friends ordered the four bone fried rib plate and his ribs looked like they took what was originally one normal sized rib cut it in half before frying it. He did note that it was well seasoned but also that he could tell that the ribs were fried in the same grease as the fish they serve. The workers were nice- someone was cleaning the windows while we were in, one employee went running out of the restaurant and the remaining FOH employee who took out order was nice but seemed as if he was new and learning the very limited menu for the first time. The location is small but intimate. I would not recommend big parties coming to dine in due to little to no seating. I would also recommend coming early when the food is fresh.

Good food a lot of options desserts are overpriced, but I enjoyed the food and service

Delicious comfort food and awesome pies. I had the chopped burger with greens, macaroni and sweet potato casserole. Loved every bite and finished it off with a sweet potato cheesecake and bourbon.

Good country food reasonably priced....... The chicken and fish are made to order but the veggies are great
