Did a few rounds of shopping. Had a hard time finding the frozen fruit section. I made it to the cash register and asked the young man standing there. His exact words. "Yeah I don't do much back there. I don't know what to tell you." Disappointment and unacceptable aren't even the words for this mess. I'm embarrassed for him. Young man didn't even attempt to reach out our even find out where the section was located. Kroger is clearly the better choice when grocery shopping. Oh yeah and I found the frozen fruit section on my own. It's pitiful to say the least.

I ordered disinfectant products online for drive-up that were out of stock. The manager personally called me and let me know when the next shipment was coming in and when I could come pick up my order. People don't realize what a hidden gem this grocery store is on prices and availability especially for brandname items. I've always had a positive experience, but this was over-the-top customer service! Also, they have really good produce and deli items.

I have about 30 years experience in the retail grocery business. This is the only grocer in the Memphis area that I patronize. First thing I look at when I enter any food establishment be it grocery, restaurant, deli, etc. is the floors. If the floors are clean, chances are the place is clean. Conversely if the floors are dirty I run, not walk, out. Ok so the floors are very clean here. When entering this Superlo, the deli is the first department you see. The work area behind the counter is very clean. I don't usually buy anything from the deli because I know how to cook and make a sandwich. Moving into the produce area, all the basics are covered. You won't find anything super fancy here but it all looks fresh and tastes terrific. Meat department is hit or miss for me. They advertise specials a lot and I'm guessing they sell a good deal of product. The ground meats all looked the same to me this visit. For those of you unfamiliar, ground chuck, ground round, and ground sirloin are supposed to look different due to the different levels of fat in each product. This all looked like ground chuck but labelled differently. A little unethical in my opinion. Super Lo doesn't carry every brand under the sun but national brands are well represented as well as private label. I rarely buy private label with the exception of the gallon ice cream. $4 for a gallon of ice cream is a steal and I love me some ice cream! In conclusion, most of the employees are really friendly and helpful. The prices are the best in the Memphis area, and the store overall is really clean. This is why I drive out of my way to shop here.

I really wish Super Lo was closer to my house than Kroger. No, it isn't as pretty as Kroger, but it really is a better grocery store. The only things Kroger offers that Super Lo doesn't are fresh flowers, Boar's Head meat and a little larger selection of products. Super Lo does have a deli, and I don't buy flowers from the grocery store anyway. I can find everything I need here. They have a larger selection of the ethnic foods. For instance, an entire aisle dedicated to Hispanic herbs and spices, as well as things like cactus in the produce dept. I would love to venture out and learn to cook authentic Mexican food. They also have large pasta shells, which Kroger doesn't carry, as well as a larger selection of Chinese and Thai foods. They carry a large selection of American and imported cheese as well, including Roqueforts, which is not easy to find. As far as prices, overall I save about $50 at Super Lo versus Kroger. Very few things are more expensive, like the Community Coffee that my hubby drinks, which is about $1 more here. Jazzy's dog food is about $2 a bag cheaper. The store brands aren't as good as Kroger store brands, but I buy very few store brand items anyway, so I just spring for name brand at Super Low. I still come out ahead. Plus, they have a dollar aisle, with things like rice, pastas, and even plastic storage containers. The customer service here is SO much better! Nothing infuriates me more than having to use the self check-out things that never seem to work properly. The cashiers and baggers are super friendly. Even the security guard pleasantly greets everyone walking in. He once walked out and stood by the front doors as I was loading groceries in my car after a late night shopping trip. That scored them a few brownie points with me. I would highly recommend giving Super Lo a try for your grocery needs.

It isn't a terrible store, but don't ever use their online ordering. They've yet to get ONE of my orders right and are actually getting worse with each attempt. The latest order was three items short (that I was charged for) and four items replaced without informing me. What's the point of using the NO REPLACEMENT if they'll just throw whatever they have in your bags anyway?Worse yet, they don't care. No follow up, cannot count on the manager's word to fix over charging and screwups, not even a response from their site contact form. Just don't.
