Superlo Foods

The chicken is "famous" and for good reason and should be the ENTIRE post, but I'll add a little more. I like coming here early in the morning or after work to do some light grocery shopping. Prices aren't much cheaper, but I do like that I can get certain items from here that aren't found in other stores. My most recent purchase was the fried chicken, sweet cole slaw, fudge brownie and peach cobbler for dinner. Peach cobbler was not good and not enough peaches. I like crust, but the crust wasn't even good but my other items were really good and the chicken is available daily at 11am. I have been passing over the deli and hot items until I was told to try the chicken and slaw. I have a new place to get hot items in days that I don't want to cook, but I do advise you get there before 430 if you're looking for chicken.

5 Stars **JUST FOR THE FRIED CHICKEN**I am late to the party, but this might be some of the best fried chicken in the whole city of Memphis. Last time I ordered (I use Instacart), I purchased 2 so my inlaws could experience the joy. They are Gus's fanatics, and they loved this chicken. Just typing this, my mind starts saying "You need to order this for dinner tonight!" I love fried chicken, but hate the mess. This tastes like homemade, and I don't have to worry about grease popping!

Bought an item had to return it, because it was completely broken and the manager was so helpful and so nice return without a problem. Even after I placed the phone call the day before or the week before to return it no problem when I got there.SuperLo on Covington Pike has great meats selection , and great prices for it as well. there's always a sale, their meat department along with pricing make then one of the best in Memphis. The fish department is not a very wide selection of fish mostly catfish, compared to the other meat displays the fish does not look very appetizing or appealing at all.One thing that's changed is SuperLo Foods partnered with Ace Hardware and they now have a working hardware store inside of the grocery store. They have cleaned up and upgraded the store substantially. The parking lot which is very clean completely repaved and striped. Current today they are actively Remodeling and renovating the store, which is apparent when you enter at the front entrance less clutter new doors. Part of the work included repainting the exterior of the store completely. The interior of the store has greatly improved from kind of a messy look to a very neat and orderly look as you can see by the photos featured. They have really good cuts of meat and if you are looking for a spices they have a great variety!

My boss ordered some chicken from here for out chicken and waffle lunch... best fried chicken!

Beyond a shadow of a doubt the best grocery store in the city of Memphis! Great selection, interesting choices! Friendly staff and a clean store. I love feeling like I'm supporting a local business and getting a great value for my money.

Superior may smells at times but it has a lot of prices you can't beat. The store is not very big but you will find everything you need!! You have name brand and generic brands. You can get a lot of meats for lower prices that you would at other stores. You can get some of the dairy for a lower price as well. They have name brand and generic sodas so you have a lot of different varieties to choose from. Not to forget the employees that work there they are all vibrant and full of life. I've never met a rude employee at superlo foods and I'm glad; that's one of the reasons people come back to the store

This place is the only non-membership grocery store in it's little area, so that's definitely a plus. They don't have a lot of frills, but they have everything you need at very good prices. They even sell gas outside for a few cents less per gallon than everywhere else nearby. Because of their low prices, you get a pretty rough looking crowd in there, but I think the savings is worth it.

I really like the Superlo stores even tho I have gotten spoiled meat before and ice cream that wouldn't freeze. Today this white manager was just too much tho. while checking out I overheard her tell another white employee in the fast lane to watch this lady she had a tote the store sells with food inside. That she may steal it. Well the lady proceeded to dump the stuff out and bought the bag. It pissed me off so bad. That you can be judged like that for shopping. i waited on her and told her when she left. She said the lady ask her earlier if she needed help and she said no but she don't worry about people like that. She work around to many people that are not white to act like that.

As I walked to enter, the manager was reprimanding to young men on not getting along. Standing in the way of customers. Then I was checking out and Quincey was nice but wearing his pants so low I was flashed with his underwear and the shadow of his crack several times. So if you come here, and I wouldn't, be prepared. And warned.
