What a fantastic surprise THIS was! We were driving cross-country with all our pets (three cats, a dog, and two canaries) and needed a place to stay for the night. We didn't want to pay for a hotel room in Memphis on a weekend so checked with Hotels.com for someplace within an hour or so. We needed somewhere that would allow the pets and had room for us to park our moving truck. Hotels.com directed us to the Sunrise and we were on our way. It's a little bit far off I-40, but totally worth it. We wound our way through town and pulled in late, late -- around 1:00 in the morning or so. Despite the hour, the employee (owner?) came out to check us in with a smile. Super friendly man, you'd have thought it was a decent hour by the way he interacted with us. We made sure he was aware of our menagerie; he was totally fine with it, no pet fee charged. The building itself if the standard motel style with all the doors opening out to the parking lot. It looked like a cheap, dive-y kind of place that someone decided to make over and they did a great job on it. The room was small, sure, but cozy, clean, and pleasantly decorated. The bed was comfortable if a little wobbly due to the king mattress resting on two smaller box springs, all atop an even smaller platform. The soaps and shampoos are all imported from India; a nice touch that goes with the whole theme of the place.Very inexpensive, very clean and comfortable. Would totally stay here again.

This place has gone downhill. The owners are very nice but whoever does housekeeping isn't on their A game. I reached for a wash cloth and before I put it to my face noticed it was dirty so I reached for another one and it was dirty too with hair on it. Eww. I'm including the pics so you don't think I'm being dramatic. The tub and sink and sheets appear to be clean. There was a weird smell to this room. You know the first time we came here it was a bargain for 39 with a travel mag coupon. Now at 79 not so much. I expect clean sheets, towels and bathroom.

Decent room for the money. Really spacious. Friendly staff. And it's right next door to the coolest outdoor art installation in the state.

First of all, thank you again for Yelp to the rescue. We found this place using yelp, based on another users positive review. We did have to drive about 15 minutes off our path, but it was well worth it. Okay, so obviously, this is not a four star hotel. However, when considering the class of Motel this is, it definitely earned it's four stars. First of all, as someone who travels late at night frequently, it's always nice when you check into a hotel at 2 AM to have a very nice proprietor receive you. And sure enough, even though it was the middle of the night and I had clearly woken him, the gentleman who checked us and was extremely welcoming and kind. Then we got to the room. It was clean and had lots of amenities. There is a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker. The beds were tall and very comfortable. My husband, who can never sleep anywhere, slept like a baby. In fact we overslept. And a really big key for us, pets are allowed. Now for the negatives. The toilet paper was standard really bad hotel toilet paper, super super super thin. And the coffee, for whatever reason, totally taste like dirt. That's it, that's all the bad I have to say. Then when we checked out, although it was a different person, she too was extremely friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is worth the drive off the interstate. It is a small, unassuming spot in front of some interesting-looking metal (electrical?) equipment. We stopped off after a long drive over the holiday. Having had mixed luck with the motels during our travels we found this on Yelp and were so pleasantly surprised. Pete, the manager, is very attentive. The room is clean, cozy, and has all the basic amenities: fridge, microwave, hair dryer, heat/AC unit, wifi, etc. I didn't find any soaps or shampoo, which is fine as I always bring my own. One thing I did appreciate is the sink/mirror is in the bathroom. In many motels it's outside of the bathroom, which is no fun when sharing a room and trying to get yourself ready. The superior lighting of the confines of a bathroom, along with the privacy, is another plus for this place. The bed and pillows were comfy and it was quiet through the night. The walls are a little thin so that's the only downside I can see if you happen to have noisy neighbors. Considering how helpful the staff is here I would imagine they would promptly address that should it be an issue. Definitely go here for an inexpensive night's sleep if you're in the area. It appeared to blown away the nearby competition.

Did not expect too much from a $55 room but I was wrong . They have smoking and non smoking . Free wifi ! The room comes with a mini fridge and microwave . The shower and air conditioner are amazing for the price. We stayed in a king room and I have back problems and I slept like a baby. Normally my husband and I complain there's not enough blankets or the beds smalls and it's just awesome ! I'd highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't feel like paying $200 a night for your last hotel on your travels . I am very pleasantly surprised and will recommended to anyone I know . There's a ice machine and a soda machine also only seven minutes from Walmart . I'm a complainer and I only have one complaint about it , there's not a coffee machine in the room . I drink a lot of coffee in the morning and we like to make our Dunkin donuts but I'm very satisfied ! Will return again ! Staff is so polite and kind , you can also check out a room before you commit to stay so I can prove myself right ! Have a great stay everyone !!

I stayed I this Inn for 13 weeks. They are dog friendly. It was the best experience I have ever had while traveling. Pete and Bindy are great and will do anything within their ability to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is an older building but they are remodeling the rooms and replacing the furniture in all the rooms. If I ever end up working in the Brownsville TN area again this will definitely be the place I stay. One block from downtown. Close to shopping and restaurants. There is a great Heritage Museum and wildlife refuge nearby. I highly recommend this Inn for a friendly and accommodating stay in the Brownsville area.Ms. Gibson
