Being able to visit the studio where Elvis recorded for the first time was something that really intrigued us.We weren't sure how interesting the actual studio and tour would be, but we quickly realised we were in for a unique and cultural experience that would have us recommending the tour to everyone who would listen.Hearing the stories about Elvis, how he was discovered and recorded and became the icon we know today was an absolute pleasure. If you're a fan of Elvis, looking for something unique to do in Memphis or just want to learn about a huge piece of musical history, this tour is for you.

Sun studio was one of my favorite tours that I took on my trip to Memphis. The history behind the recording studio was amazing and you could clearly tell that the tour guide was very passionate about his job and the music. The studio was very clean and well organized. I cannot recommend this enough. It is a great time for all ages and does not take more than 2 hours.

We've been here now three times! You do learn something new each time and now they have Dewey Phillips original DJ booth upstairs to gawk at. It's a great blast to the past when Rock & Roll was born. They have lots of memorabilia and they also walk you through the studio. You are welcome to pose on U2's drum kit, the mike where Elvis crooned into, the piano that Jerry Lee Lewis donated, etc. Awesome place for all music buffs. They also sell merchandise, T-shirts, guitar picks and even records! They also have a little cafe that serves coffee, tea, shakes and ice cream sandwiches. Make sure you tip the tour guide if they do an excellent job. Ours really did!

Took the tour today; great! How good a tour is often depends on the guide. The young fella who led our tour was terrific. If you're interested in music, this is a must do.

Every time I come to Memphis I go through the museum. Always new stuff and never boring. The guides are energetic and very knowledgeable. GO and sing in the same studio that Elvis started in. Very inspirational.

We took the 3:30pm tour. It was good. The biggest drawback was that we were mixed in with two tour bus loads of people. Jason was our tour guide. He clearly loves his job and the history of Sun Records Studio. He knows a lot and made the tour fun. Many, many amazing artists got their start with Sam Phillips at Sun Records. It's definitely worth the stop. Tour tickets at $14 for adults.

Fantaztic!!! Staff were great, a of ghe. Are musicians and are enthusiastic about Sam Phillips and the Sun Studios sound and history. Jason was so great, if all of the guides truly enjoy their day job as much he, you will have a fun experience. If you had to choose between Graceland and Sun Recording Studios, go with Sun!!
