One of the tougher things to find in NEA is a good local breakfast spot, but the few that exist are all really good! This past wkend I was craving some dandy pancakes so I knew exactly where I was headed.Sugar Grits is located in downtown Jonesboro just a couple of doors down from our fav outdoor store, Gearhead. Its got a really good breakfast menu w/some great grit options, but their biscuits & pancakes are my fav things there. I had the Biscuit Board, the Cattleman Biscuit w/their great breakfast potatoes, & the awesme pancake. All really good options! Some very nice service from a brand new waitress & some good coffee. Love the set up and the music. Stop by and see them & be nice to your server!

We were in town visiting our daughter at ASU and she wanted to eat here for breakfast . We will not be making a return visit since the food was average at best. When you spend $50 for breakfast for 3 people, the quality of the food should equate. My daughter ordered the bird in a bed which was supposed to be a chicken breast with waffle. When ordering the waitress told her they were out of the waffle and asked if a pancake would work instead So she agreed, when they brought this out; it was a huge pancake with two small chicken strips. The chicken strips were just some type of poor quality frozen strips. I asked the waitress if thy were really going to charge 16.99 for that and she said yes. When I pointed out that the menu said breast but a breast was not served, she blamed that on the cook in the kitchen messing up. We ordered the biscuit board and it was ok. Biscuits were dry and crumbly. My husband ordered the way out western omelet and it was very good. This place has potential but unfortunately due to our experience, we have no desire to give it a second chance.
