Cuban and a burger and fries, and Cole slaw and...... I want it all! My hubby ordered the Cuban and said "I'd come back here again!" I ordered the burger with pimento cheese. Whoa!!! That was amazing. The bar back did he did not like Cole slaw. But still recommended the sesame slaw. It did not disappoint. We will be back to work our way through the menu. Highly recommended!!

I visited Subculture to try their Nashville hot chicken tacos, and I've heard great things about this spot. Although it's more of a fusion take on Nashville hot chicken, it didn't disappoint at all. During happy hour, the tacos were priced at $7 for two, and I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic they were. The chicken had a great kick to it and was packed with flavor, but the standout was how crispy it was--I didn't know hot chicken could have such a crunchy texture! The ambiance was pleasant, with plenty of seating and a quiet atmosphere. The owner was very friendly when taking my order, and the service was impressively quick--I got my food in less than 10 minutes. Subculture has become my favorite hot chicken spot in Nashville, and I highly recommend giving it a try!

OMG! this place is so good I could eat here every day. Ok, well the first time I ate here I did come back the next 2 days in a row and brought friends. They had me at "butternut squash". I first tried the butternut squash tacos. Wow!The kids love the empanadas. A friend tried the hot chicken and thought it was great (and hot)!Another friend loves the quinoa salad. I can't say enough about the butternut squash salad. The first few times I had it I took the pickled onions off thinking I wouldn't like them. (duh) Today I ate my salad with them on and loved them. The salad dressing is so good, I want to buy a bottle of it.The crepes are incredible and the Alfajor cookie is almost too much. They have fancy coffee and craft beer that my friends enjoyed. The service is the BEST! And the furniture in this place has the same urban vibe as my kitchen furniture.I'm not supposed to be eating any processed food right now, but I don't think I'm cheating by eating at Subculture. Everything is homemade.Even the other diners are nice, is this place magic? Oh, and they play kick butt music, and the outside eating area has festive coloured hanging lights.

Smashed the butternut tacos! They are soooo good! Small place with simple yet thoughtful decor. Love the rustic feel of the food and the consideration into a more rustic approach.

When I walked in and asked about the Cubano sandwich the man behind the counter confidently told me his sandwich is better than the Miami original.I took his word for it and ordered. He was absolutely right. It's a better sandwich.I've had a ton of Cuban sandwiches all over Miami. Here are the differences. It's not Cuban bread but a home made sandwich roll made for the shop. It's delicious. Cuban bread is flaky and creates a shell that holds all of the sandwich together. This bun was soft and held up to the weight of the sandwich well.A Cuban sandwich has sweet lunch meat ham along with the roast pork. This does not. He used a bread and butter pickle to accentuate a sweet note against the flavorful pork roast. Same effect on the tastebuds. This was easily the best pork roast I've had on a sandwich. The mustard finishes it off. Every bite was a little bit better than the one before it.I can definitely see why this is such a popular spot. It's a small no frills dining area.I can't wait to come back and try something else next!

Subculture is just as good as I remembered it to be. I wish I could try more things on the menu but the ramen with hot chicken is just too good, I can't not order it! Medium is spicy but not crazy. Chicken comes on the side, cut it up into small pieces and add it a little at a time to the broth so it doesn't get soggy. Amazing!!

Was visiting Nashville for work and looking for a place to stop and send some emails. I wasn't looking for anything spectacular, but I certainly got it with Subculture! Seriously...the ambiance was absolutely lovely. The service was phenomenal and the food...AMAZING. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (of which I had several others during my time in the city) and it was so so SO good. I can't recommend this place enough. Plus, they just opened a new location in Smyrna. You should a thousand percent check it out.
