Stephersons on macon has been my favorite neighborhood grocery store for over thirty years. Ive spwnt the majority of my income there and they know my name and my children..i there once or twice a day. However today i had a problem ..another problem with a newish girl in the customer service booth as she lied to me and said there is a cash shortage and couldnt give me my cash back the way i needed it. I happen to have worked 9 years as customer service..manager of the front end for 9 years at another store ran by the same stephersons people but called superlo on spottswood. When it was the only superlo.i daced with randy and jack stepherson at jscks wedding reception and was treated as family and still respect them and support them tho they allowed me to get lied about sexually assaulted and harrassed and then fired from the best job i ever had. They were just looking at going cooperate and gave the store to a lowlife that looked ok as management over me. He made my life miserable then called ne namesvand demeaned me as i left. Anyways back to the fact that i know becsuse of that job that they have plenty access to cash..they have a safe..they have constant influx of miney. They cash large checks cinstantly. They do western union. They have cash. There is a coin shortage. Not a cash shortage and they lied to me..refused my request and then the manager in duty whis shown me time and time again that ge diesnt care about his job or the customers nor service . much less having pride in his work.i was asking for less than a hundred dollars in tens and fives..then agreed to a couple of 20s and still couldnt be accommodated. This leads me to belueve this was racist because there was no perpise to continuously refuse a really good customer a simple requst..when she also making a purchase and paying the fee.i cant feel any differntly about that. Please explain the rational behind this way of treating someone. I cant fathom not shopping at the store ive favorited for my whole life. Most know my name and watched my kids grow up. Ive watched people that worked there years retire then pass away sadly like family members. Fix this issue in customer service please

Stepherson's Superlo Foods is a local chain of grocery stores. The one on Macon is the first one in the chain, when it was started in 1950. It's most famous location is the one between Colonial, Southern, and Perkins next to Target. This store has everything you'd expect at a grocery store at cheap prices.

This store is just awful. Ive been going there many years and just in the last few it has gone completely downhill. The store manager Tommy is a nice guy but hes got a bunch of entitled teenagers working for him and they have no business in management positions. The employees especially one of the old ladies behind the desk have awful attitudes. You never ever get a smile or a thankyou, nothing. In fact they act like you're inconveniencing them. Even complaining to management was in vain bc they stick up for each others bad attitudes n service. So i took my money and my family that spends alot of money there weekly to a more humble and deserving store. I would never advise anyone to shop here especially if an employee needs to walk half a step to get something for u bc u will not get it.

The dollar aisle is spectacular and they have everything you need without having to face the Mega - store crowds and parking. The organic selection is almost nonexistent however, the prices are lower in the store because of that I'm sure. Not selling it and losing money would cost the store money and this demographic can't afford most organic products on their regular grocery budgets.
