As a middle aged black woman, I find it offensive and an insult to state openly that I can't bring my purse in next time because of increased theft. The front door signage states backpacks and grocery sacks will need to be left up front before shopping. Attached you will see the front door signage and purse in question. The employee made this comment while I was at the register purchasing $50 worth of liquor. I've made purchases at this store several times over the course of four years.

Staff is courteous & knowledgeable, always busy keeping the store stocked & well organized. I am always greeted as soon as I walk in the door, & thanked as I leave. Help is available to point me in the right direction or assist me till I make my selection. They are glad to special order items too.

Great place to get wine or liquor for a party. Kroger is right next door so it is very convenient. Staff knows their wine and are very helpful. Good selection too!

When I lived in Lakeland, this was one of my favorite places to stop in for wine. It's conveniently located right next to Schnuuks, so it was great to be able to pick up what I needed for dinner, then pop over and get a bottle of vino to go with it. I like the fact that they know their wine here. At least that's been my experience. In fact, just last week I was in the area and stopped in to pick up a couple of bottles. I noticed they had a sale on all their Chilean and Argentine wine. Well hey, I am all about a good sale on vino, but wasn't sure what to get. But the guy working there was so great. He came over and gave me a couple of suggestions, which turned out to be spot on. I loved the wine. So even though I don't live in Lakeland anymore, I will definitely visit this place again when I'm passing through.

After becoming well-acquainted with the liquor stores and beer marts of Midtown and East Memphis, my eye was drawn to the large numbers of beer stores up and down Germantown Parkway and Highway 64. With a Saturday afternoon opening up, I grabbed another willing searcher and hopped in the car. Thus the Great Beer Trek began. The best find of the trek--after some earlier disappointments--came at the very end when we reached the city limits of Lakeland and entered Stellar Cellar. From the hilarious and wide-ranging discount sheet on the door to the friendly service from the moment we entered, we knew this was going to be a good time. The beer selection was solid in general--not as extensive as Buster's but better than most other places--but most importantly they had some beers I have never before seen in the Memphis area. I noticed a number of Chicago-area beers including Goose Island Halian and Gillian as well as Crispin's Bird on a Wire cider. They also had a space for my favorite sour, Petrus Aged Pale, but they said they were currently out of stock because it was a slow seller (which is just baffling to me--any Yelpers reading this should pick it up if you see it). I'll be making the drive back to pick it up if they get it in stock. My fellow searcher discovered some unusual scotch glasses there and it looked like they had wine tastings and beer tastings in an area at the back of the store sometimes. Prices were a bit higher than average, but not exorbitant. Was it the best beer experience in the Memphis area? Not quite, but it did have a number of unique things I couldn't find elsewhere. Consider this a 4.5 and I'll check in later after re-visiting.

Check out the cruvinet; always a great way to try wine before you buy. They have four whites and four reds on tap. Wines are changed out every Thursday

Very helpful staff and good selection. They sometimes have closeouts from distributors at great prices. Add your name to their email list to get weekly specials. They do give free tastings of featured wines - be adventurous and try something new.Only drawback, Kroger is next door and parking is impossible at times. Hopefully, when Kroger finishes its expansion parking will improve.

Don't know if they got new staff or what, but I don't appreciate being laughed at and having one of the cashiers walk to the back when I'm about to make a big purchase. I would like to think it wasn't based on my friend and My race but that could be a possibility. Next time we will definitely take our business and our money else where.
