I've only been to staks a few times so I couldn't remember what I'd gotten before. I managed to get some new things and enjoyed what I got. Looking back at my review for the Germantown location, I will have to get the strawberry shortcake pancake next time I visit as I loved it when I tried hubby's last time. This time I got the Toasted S'more coffee, breakfast egg rolls, and the Fried Chicken Enchiladas. I loved the drink, liked the enchiladas ok, but I wouldn't get the breakfast egg rolls again. They were just kinda flavorless which is weird because another friend of mine is obsessed with them and suggested them when I mentioned I was coming here.

I have known about this place for a good while now. I believe they have been in business in some location or another for I'd say at least a decade. I have managed to stay out of here that entire time. My kid was recently recognized by the Board of Education in our county for being a National Merit Semi-Finalist on the morning of our visit. It was a her day, her decision, you see. What could I say? I asked where we wanted to go, Staks shot right out of her mouth, so here we are.It says right there in the Yelp description, "Instagram worthy interior, with fair ass food", and we still went. It's right there!!She wanted the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with blueberries on top with a side of bacon. Damn it, that is what she got! She ate like 16% of the pancakes. Tore up the side of bacon. I tried the pancakes, and if they are warm, they are probably good. She loves them, so you have that going for you Staks. No one ate the two orders of hash brown mess. They were not edible. Lowest of dehydrated crap potatoes sold by their distributor, maybe one up from the bottom. The worst hash browns I've had prior to this were gourmet compared. If you soaked pringles in water, then smushed that mess on a grill, it would be better.I messed up and got some croissant sandwich with gravy. Idk. It was wild. Not in an exhilarating way though. Knife and fork, then it smushed, then it slid, then it went into the trash. No way that gravy was not from a bag!Wife got a sausage biscuit. No report from her. My sausage on my sandwich was low brow, so I assume the same for her. I will do my best to put another decade between my next visit. I really wish society, (all of Silo Square is essentially trash food) placed more emphasis on real, fresh, good, whole foods instead places specializing in nothing that you can post on your Social Media accounts to show you ate a shitty meal. These places exist because our brains are now mush and the food we eat reflects it. I'm not sure which came first.... The sequence seems to have began long ago. Sorry for the rant.... '24 - 91/101

Wait staff (Alyssa) was friendly and did great. I was the only one there when I came in (7:00am) the location is super cute and designed is Instagram worthy. Ordered cappuccino - size was good for the price. Enjoyed the flavor of coffee. No complaints here.Ordered the make your own omelet ($7) without anything on it. Unfortunately you have to pay for each item you put in it and it makes it pricer. (Gouda $2, avocado $2, bacon $3) $14 in total (comparable to other places) It was a large portion and tasted great. I learned they mix milk to make it fluffy. So if you are avoiding milk/ dairy it is something to be aware of. Then you get a side. I ordered a side French toast and it was a $1 up charge. (It was more like cinnamon toast made of white bread then actual French toast -disappointing)Totaling my main meal to $15 for omelet and toast (which is similar when comparing to other resteraunts)Then I got a side of bacon ($5) for 3 piecesAll in all it's a cute place and I enjoyed it, however it can easily rack up a tab.

Silo Square is beautiful. Staks is also very beautifully decorated. Our waitress was the friendliest, kindest, most helpful staff in the restaurant the day we were there. She got the place 2 stars! The other star is the ambiance. I wanted plain French toast with only butter, but they had gobs of cinnamon on them. So much it overpowered the French toast, the butter, and the weak maple syrup. I didn't complain though. I ate it bec we were seated at 1:40 and left an hour later(not the only ones in restaurant, but we were the last ones out the door). Hubby liked the breakfast egg rolls but didn't care for the cold hard gravy dip it came with. He also ordered the croissants and hoped they'd compare to Cheddars, but they don't. The sweet tea is perfection!!!!! They have a unique menu and would definitely return to try something else if not just for the yummy sweet tea!

Disclaimer: I'm only giving it a 4- star rating because I'm not sure who is at fault here.#Storytime: I was craving some grits when I stumbled about this restaurant. I didn't have time to stop and order so I placed a DD order. Per the DD website- it made the Power Breakfast look like an egg white omelette- so you can imagine my face when I received my order Even though the power breakfast looks like a kid's menu at an adult rate sprinkled with an greedy azz up charge (shoutout to Door Dash & their greed)I am still fairly new to the south and a lot of the TN/MS culture... but those grits tasted like they had milk in them! I am not a fan of milk or sugar in grits! Where I didn't taste the milk like flavor... the grits were hearty w/ enough cheese and flavor... Power breakfast aka a kid's meal in disguise: what can I really say, except what in the entire f**k?! My sausage (sorry for not including a closeup) was one sausage cut into 2. I was given two struggle azz slices of tomato (let's be honest- for what?) I ordered a hash brown that never made it and a cup of fruit. The fruit was surprisingly delicious! (Sorry, I forgot to snap a picture of it. I was still in shock over "POWER BREAKFAST" Will I give there another try? Yes! But I will try other items!

A lot of people quibble that you pay for your food as soon as you order it, but this is actually a good thing. How many times have you waited on the check because you where ready to leave, but the waitstaff was busy with new customers? You don't have to tip at pay time, you can leave a cash tip after you are done eating (and trust me, the waitstaff would prefer this). The food itself is delicious and the service has always been good the half dozen times we've gone. This isn't the waffle house or a diner, it's a fancier place so read the menu carefully. I had something that I usually love but the sauce was too avante grade for my tastes -- but that is on me. I could have asked them to put it on the side and they would have done so with no issues. We love to go here when we have family or out of town guests over.

I had the worst thinnest pancakes I've ever had here. Also, I didn't like the Gouda grits. The omelette was good - not enough to make me want to come back.

Multiple awful experiences with the front hostess. To describe her, she is the older lady with white hair. She has a consistently poor attitude. I get that customer service is hard, but if you can't handle it you need to find a different role--and that woman being the first impression of the whole restaurant is horrible for the reputation of the business. Blaming the customer is the last thing you do when you work in customer service. I love Stak's food. But that woman made me walk out today after the disrespectful conversation she had with me. I can spend my money elsewhere and not get into an argument with a worker before even getting seated.

Overpriced breakfast food. We have visited this restaurant on 3 separate occasions and the service has never been good. On the last visit we sat down to a dirty table, had to get our own silverware, and the food was not very good. One individual in our group ordered a salad that had wilted, slimy, hot lettuce in it. Two others received only part of their order and only received the rest of it when they asked about it. Then there is a required 18% gratuity added to every bill, without the option to change it. We will not be returning to Stak's in the future.
