Square Market and Cafe

Food was good, atmosphere was cozy, service was good but they were so busy doing this and that they weren't at the table enough. Would visit again.

We were going to swing by for a few chocolate truffles/desserts to go from the front case. We pulled up around 3:15, and the hostess was moving in the A-frame, flipping the sign to closed, and locking the door. The website and door said they did not close for another 45 minutes. We went next door to Muletown Coffee for light munchies instead.

First time in Columbia and this was our first restaurant for lunch. It was amazing. First off we were greeted immediately and taken to our table. The server was also quick to greet us getting our drink orders. I ordered a soup and sandwich combo getting Lobster Bisque and a Reuben. The Bisque was amazing as I thought I was eating it in a beach town. Lobster seemed very fresh and the flavors were spot on. I loved it! The Reuben was a classic Reuben done right. Corned beef was high quality and seasoned well. All the flavors and the Russian dressing was a perfect complement to the meat and other flavors. I would definitely order again! Top notch food and service. I highly recommend!

Service was great! The turkey panini was AMAZING--highly recommend! Someone at our table ordered the tomato soup and it was delicious. A nice lunch spot for a day spent shopping around town.

My friend and I ate lunch at the Square Market & Cafe. It was a Thursday around noon, and there wasn't a wait, which is nice. They have a spacious restaurant inside, as well as a few tables outside. We snagged the last available table outside because it was a beautiful day!I ordered the BLT with crispy bacon & regular mayonnaise. It was delicious and just how I like it! When I ask for crispy bacon at other places, it doesn't always come out right.My friend got a club that looked really good, too! We both got waters at first, but didn't love the taste. So I ordered lemonade next and enjoyed it.The prices were average. The menu is pretty large too. They have soups, sandwiches, and salads, but they also have entrees and pasta dishes.

I should have trusted my instincts when I walked in the door. I should have turned around and left. The stunned looks on the faces of the staff was my first warning. "Uh oh! People"The tired furniture and ambience was my second warning. But the food... oh the food! Cheese sauces straight out of a can, drenching the plates. Well-meaning servers could not salvage this experience. Absolutely terrible. Avoid.

Service was excellent and food was even better (if that's possible). I had the Blackened Salmon sandwich and my wife had the chicken quesadilla. Less than 15 for our food to arrive at table. The place was very clean. The price was pretty reasonable compared to what it costs you to eat out these days. We had in-house fruit tea with our meal. It was top of the line too!. Highly recommended and we will certainly be going back soon!PS I don't understand some of the 4-star reviews here. They say everything was great, don't provide any feedback as to why they didn't give a 5-star rating. Makes no sense.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The service is fast. The food is excellent! The portions are abundant and the prices are fairly reasonable. The tomato artichoke soup, BLT, Hot Brown, Tuna Melt, and Brownie are all delicious. Highly recommend!

Filthy lunch special is a half of a sandwich some chips and a four oz. Cup of soup. For twenty bucks. Service was fine. Over all no chance in hell I'll be back.
