I'm a huge fan of fresh fish and this place provides you that and more.This is a relatively small family owned establishment i the city. Since Covid, it's only open for To-Go orders only.As a disclaimer, To-Go orders can be placed online, or in person. Don't even bother calling because they WON'T answer. This is likely due to the consistency of customers coming in to place their order. Once you come in to place your order safety precautions are in place. Once you've placed your order, you'll provide your number and once your order is ready, you'll receive a text to "pick up" your order. Food options are well portioned. Food is normally good, however on this occasion the fish 3 PC fish filet was poorly cooked. The coleslaw was changed out for what seems to be store bought and it was awful. Be advised the fried okra has become a "hit or miss" I need them to start to care about the product again

Lady was rude as I walked in. Didn't want to help. Laughed at me on the way out the door. I guess she was having a worse day than me. Oh , well. God is good

They have always been consistent. Fish dinners come with 2 sides and sandwiches come with fries. Dine-in is closed during covid. They're still open and now have online ordering (don't call... order on the website! )

I absolutely love Southwind Fish!! I come here about 3 times a month and have yet to be disappointed. They have the BEST catfish I have EVER had. The catfish nuggets are well seasoned and perfectly fried. The hush puppies are delicious and so is the potato salad. The restaurant is small but always clean. The staff is friendly. I suggest calling ahead if you are ordering during the lunch hours because it can get a bit busy.

I am pretty happy to have finally made it into this place! It has been there for years and for some reason I just have never been. I have now been here twice and I was shocked to see how busy they were on my second visit on Saturday night. I now understand why...The catfish is AWESOME! It is really some of the best I have ever had! The breading is unique in how in encapsulates the fish and kind of like steam/pressure cooks it. It is perfectly spiced and crunchy like it should be. I have had a few side dishes and I really liked the Onion Rings, the fries are Thick Steak Cut, Cole Slaw was on point, and although pre-battered frozen the Fried Okra was solid. The corn looked awful but was actually really good.Reason for only 4 stars... The Hush Puppies sucked! Boo! Why? It could have been love! The Shrimp is also pre-battered frozen... Only fair in taste/quality.Stick with the Catfish for a solid 5 star visit so far in my opinion. They do have some other interesting stuff like Whiting and Big Bone Buffalo (whatever that is). I'll get back with you on that...

I ordered the Shrimp Poboy and was so excited, my mouth watering, thinking of hot delicious juicy shrimp spilling out of a well dressed Poboy bun. What I got was FOUR obviously frozen shrimp that had obviously been reheated-- taking 40 minutes mind you -- served on a small hotdog bun!!! I am beyond furious since I paid over $10 for this mess and am still hungry since I threw it away uneaten. If only there were ZERO stars.

Food is great, no issues BUT the attitude and lack of customer service is awful, lady is probably the owner and unfortunately like most black folks who owns a business ... service suffers, is lacking 100%. I wonder how much better their business would be with a "chick filet" attitude. Hmmmmmm!

Lady at front door was very rude. Didn't even greet me coming through the door but had a really bad attitude. Food was mediocre.
