Came back on 9/22, boy have things gone down hill. Will be our last time eating here. Why:1. We sat down. Lady behind the counter asked if we were eating in, I said yes. She said you have to place your order at the counter. Mothers day we sat down, a waitress came & took our order & bought it to us. Guess they're trying to cut expenses now?2. They have a tip request on the checkout. I tipped. Wished I hadn't. Lady forgot to give me my drink cup. They bought our food to our table in 2 TO GO containers with very small plastic fork & knife. WTF? 3. I ordered the same exact meal as Mothers Day. This time, there was a small, WAY OVERCOOKED breast & no wing. Mothers day I had both, on a regular to eat in plate.4. Greens were COLD. How can greens be cold. If the owners are trying to drive away customers, well you drove us 2 away. Good riddens.

This place is amazing. The food is tremendous. Classic southern/soul food. Definitely a local dining stop. Lots of people came in for takeout. I had fried catfish. Probably the best I've ever had. The greens and cornbread were fantastic. And the banana pudding is unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Greens tasted like they came from a can. Pork chop was too salted and they so cheap with peppers and onions I even asked for extra but one small string of a pepper. The cornbread is always the best thing going. They use to be really good at this place but it has changed tremendously. Kam's Pork Chops

We ate at this restaurant for almost two weeks straight and didn't get tired of it. Our favorite is the meatloaf, mac and cheese, yams, and of course you have to order extra bread because it's that good.

The food was excellent! We had many of the sides and they were all very good. Highly recommend the cabbage and greens but everything was good and very hot (temperature). The meatloaf was big and tasty. The banana pudding was perfect. The only negative was that the eating area was not very clean at all.

Stop serving dry candid yams! They are not good! You all know we like juice on our yams. The cornbread is awesome and overall a good place for soul food.

So, whoa. This place definitely blew my expectations out of the water. I was nearby working and wanted a quick stop for lunch. I found this place on my Apple Maps app. The menu sounded great, although there were not many pictures. I was going to order online, but wasn't the biggest fan of the online interface. Plus, it stated to ask about the daily dessert specials in person and I was really hoping for some banana pudding, which was listed on the menu but not an option to order. So, I decided to order in store. Walking in, the atmosphere was very welcoming although most of the tables were filled. It looked like most people had ordered and were waiting for their food, both dine in and dine out. Everyone waiting seemed to be smiling. It was bizarre, but in a good way. I was listening to an audiobook, but paused it to take in the moment. I could almost feel the patrons' anxious anticipation for their food. Either that, or the people waiting were just having a great lunch hour. There was a small line that moved quickly enough even though there was only one cashier. For my order, I got the lunched portioned meatloaf with cabbage and yams. I found a seat and waited about 10-15 minutes for my order to be ready. Now, I am a southerner through and through (from Texas y'all, with love!). I love soul food and am not that easily impressed by soul food that isn't homemade. But I tell you, I devoured that heavenly meal. And it wasn't because I was hungry/hangry. The food was just so comforting, like my own grandmother had made it especially for me. I debated returning for dinner to get a bigger portion of a different meal, but figured that would look somewhat desperate. I finally understood why everyone waiting for their food looked stupidly happy. Hell, it made the rest of my day! I've already told friends and colleagues about the place. I highly recommend and will probably be back later this week. My only "complaints" would be 1) the parking lot (it's small, but there's a Kroger lot adjacent to it with plenty of parking) and 2) that there wasn't more meat sauce (or whatever that juice was) on the meatloaf so that I could drench every single bite in it. But, this probably allowed me to save a few calories!
