I am so glad that this business exist. I grew up in South Memphis and I am well aware of the limited access to healthy food and grocery stores. This place is very much relevant and needed. They have so many great programs and products that is certain to make sure that the community is fed and taken care of. During the Spring and Summer months, they host a outdoor market featuring local farmers and food businesses. You can get fresh fruit and veggies, grains, rice, meat, and more. They also have a yearound grocer! That makes me excited because the community is able to access ongoing nutrition and nutritional services. They have a Kitchen connected to the grocer and there, you can participate in cooking classes, workshops, and more. If you are spending snap benefits, you can also join their match program and earn, save, and spend money. Contact them to find out more. This place is definitely a jewel! I will always support them!

We were truly blessed to run into a Gentleman who told us about the amazing tomatoes they had. We made sure to stop by and were amazed at the space and services. The selection of products and the farm to store relationship they build is how it should be done. Affordable prices and great selections make this a wonderful spot for healthy food choices for the community in Memphis. They also offer cooking classes both in the location and virtually. The focus for better health based on what we eat shows. What a Blessing these people are. I love what they are doing!!!

I never knew this jewel was in the community. As a person who love health and serving the community, this farmers market is a great addition. There are cooking classes, local fresh produce and health resources, and great customer service. Stop by to see Mr. Devin and the crew.

This was my first visit and this experience was nice. The community has access to locally fresh grown produce. They provide cooking classes as well for the adults and children in the community. I enjoyed the cooking class they made us a healthy wrap to try with the produce sold at the market. The gentlemen running the store were very helpful and courteous. Everything was very neatly stocked and has a variety of foods.

If you're looking for someplace that has live entertainment and a wide selection of grass-fed meats and cheeses, this isn't your farmer's market. I mean this as a sincere compliment. You won't find any pretension here. The SMFM was established in 2010 as a means to revitalize South Memphis and combat the area's food desert problem. They've done just that by providing fresh produce during the warm months every Thursday until 6pm. Their prices are more reasonable than any other farmer's markets in the area. All the vendors, staff, and volunteers are very friendly and are eager to engage you in conversation. What's more, they accept cash, credit, debit, and EBT. If you use anything besides cash, you'll have to buy tokens on the front end and then present them to the vendors. Unlike some farmer's markets who raised a fuss about accepting EBT, they've accepted it from the start, and have partnered with Grow Memphis to match every EBT dollar spent on produce up to $10.They've been given a grant to expand into a permanent building at the corner of Mississippi Blvd and S. Parkway. Even if you don't live in the area, it's worth the drive for the cheap produce and great cause.

If you want the freshest vegetables from local farmers come to this location. The prices were very competitive and the farmers were friendly and wanted your business. Wish there were more vendors and extra assistance to help with long lines. However my veggies were fresh and delicious! I will be back.
